Conspiracy theorists LOVE to play the "NFL is entertainment" card, claiming that the NFL is allowed to "legally script games."
_Okay, assuming that's true, so what? Is that your evidence? Because that's not evidence at all. It doesn't mean it IS being done, or that it's even desirable to do so or that it's even possible to do so on the level suggested by most.
_The reason why people don't bet on professional wrestling is because that IS a form of theater, with actual evidence to back up this claim. This is exactly what would happen to the NFL... the majority of bettors would cease wagering if there was actual evidence for a "script" that they weren't privy to. That's not desirable or desired at all... since the wagering aspect of the game helps to make it as popular as it is.
_Most NFL players wouldn't stand for a script anyway. To be told that the game they love, the game they are good at, a game they've been playing for a good portion of their life, must now be given up... and that they must now follow a "script"... would not be tolerated at all.
_(And if someone could tell me why I lose my paragraphs after I hit SUBMIT, when I clearly see five distinct paragraphs in my post, I'd appreciated it.)
