    MVP702,

Agree with most of what you said. Not sure about him shaving points on all his games, but definitely on the fumbled snap in the KC game.

I am glad I was on the right side of that fix.

MVP may be right, but every so often Rivers sees an opportunity where he sees the other team and realizes no matter what he does the other teams offense is so inept and defense so riddled with injuries, that he has to take all the money he's made shaving points this year and bet on himself for once.  He figures throwing multiple pick 6's might put too much attention on him and cause him to not be able to shave points the rest of the season and knows that is the only way Jacksonville can score any points in this game. My inside Vegas Sources have told me that friends and relatives of Rivers have laid the house on Chargers -2.5 & -3, and like MVP says, you need to follow Rivers to the bank.  Bet against SD the rest of the season if you'd like, but this week even Rivers know this is too good an opportunity to pass up.

All i had to read is the title.. so ridiculous.. Rivers point shaving. There is no possible reason for him to be playing like this... No motive whatsoever.  A guy making that much money(around 8 million a year i think) to point shave, possibly get get caught and risk EVERYTHING!!  LOL.. He would get blackballed completely, would be kicked out of hte league and lose out on at least 50million or so he would make till he retires..  Come on man, you have to be out of your mind thinking he would be involved in fixing a game..

Yeah hes going to risk being banned from the league and risk at least another 80 millon over the next 8 or 9 years plus endorsements. Hes only 29. It has nothing to do with the fact the Chargers have been the 2nd most publicly over rated team (behind Dallas) for 3 straight years.Jesus Christ its no wonder obango got elected!!!

Leave it to some clown like you to turn a SPORTS BETTING CONVERSATION into a political one. Never mind about your social and political ignorance. Let's talk about your clown logic.

You say he wouldnt risk $80 million? I'm so sick of the general public acting like they know what these athletes are about. Just like I said in the post. Athletes, like regular Joes, get into trouble. Your logic is not supported by facts, you say mine isn't. I mentioned already 2 specific games as well as pointing out that the bolts are 2-9 ATS and Rivers LEADS THE LEAGUE IN TURNOVERS.

You say he wouldnt risk his career? Rich people risk everything to get more every day, more money, more power, more box, whatever...

A-Rod made easily $300 million in his career and he got arrested for playing in an ILLEGAL poker game. There are rumors that Michael Jordan's dad was killed over gambling debts. It's no secret that MJ gambled his ass off! Pete Rose risked his entire career and legacy betting on baseball games. Gilbert Arenas brought guns into a locker room and pointed them at a player over gambling debts! Paul Hornung of the great Green Bay Packers was suspended for an entire season by Pete Roselle for BETTING ON FOOTBALL !

Mark Brunell burned through $50 million with bad investments and there are many more players with REAL PROBLEMS.

You don't know these players nor what they are capable of doing or what their personalities are or what situation they are in. There is your stupid facts you bafoon !

Come correct before you act like you are smart. Joe Public.

I'm sorry that you have a two beers, get tipsy, and rant about someone shaving points because they have 6 kids. This is my first season and for NFL, I'm in the positive. I don't buy picks because I've seen how much of a failure these cappers are. Is that your main diss to people? I wouldn't be surprised if you buy picks. Don't quote me on something I never said. You have zero credibility, and no one cares about your dad's Mercedes.

MVP, i respect u man but you are wayyy off if u think those examples compare with this... Rose did that a long time ago and back then the players/coaches didnt make anything close to the money nowadays. now there is no reason to risking 10s of millions for 100s of thousands..

ARod played in an illegal poker game but that wont get him banned from baseball, a slap on the wrist at best... Definitely not the same thing as cheating in his sport by shaving points with the mob or whatever...

Brunelle and investments?  how is that illegal? and that again, has nothing to do with cheating while he is in the game.. big difference..

I have nooo idea whether or not loser Rivers is shaving points. But I do want to comment on people saying he makes millions of dollars and wouldnt risk all that money to gamble. First off, if someone is a degenerate or addicted to something, the last thing they are thinking about are consequences. If rivers is a degenerate gambler, which im not saying he is, he wouldnt give a shit about the consequences. Its a disease where all he gives a shit about is the rush and getting his fix, its not about the money.

As for the money aspect.... dude the more money you have the more expenses you have. I guarantee Rivers blows through his 10 mil a year like a normal person spends 100k a year. Just because he can and has made millions of dollars, in no way means he is comfortable financially. Look at all these rappers and athletes that are broke 2 years out of the league, making 15 mil a year. Its very easy to blow through that kinda dough with nooo problem. And apparently he has 6 kids, probably with a couple differnet broads, I guarantee this dude is not financially stable.

Im not siding with anyone, nor saying the dude cheats. Im just pointing a couple things out.

This guy is a f'n moron.  Just becasue someone is playing bad doesn't mean there shaving points.  Like you said he is a millionaire.  He just signed a huge contract in 09 with about 39 mil guaranteed.  He is just playing like shit and just becasue you lost money on SD numerous times this year does not mean he is "shaving" points.  Go somewhere else so us "NFL dweebs" can read something imformative.  He gets aroung 6.5 mil guaranteed per year for the next few years and only gets more if he performs.  He would make more money by just performing rather then get some "billy joe bob" to open a 200k acct (pennies).  Let's say your right and his "buddy" opened an acct and they managed to "fix" every game this season for 200k/game.  That gives us 3.2 million.  He can make that and get more endorsments by just winning.  Bring some more proof then you just running your mouth becasue you lost a little on SD.
