FAR SUPERIOR D??? Of course you look superior if you play in the NFC West!! They get to play St. Louis, Arizona, and Seattle twice every year. All are inept offenses and they clinched that division in like Week 12.
You simply can't be objective. Which is fine. If you WATCHED the games - you would see that the Niners have a GREAT D. And I mean great. The fact that they didn't allow a rushing TD to ANYONE for 14 weeks is simply amazing.
As for how bad the NFC West is - it is funny that the Saints lost to the Rams. Who happen to play in the NFC West...

Based on yds give up per game, here's how the two divisions stacked up ...
Sea - 9th overall, Atlanta - 12th, Ariz - 18th, StL - 22nd, Caro - 28th, and TB - 30th
It's even more evident when looking at pts given up per game ...
Sea - 7th overall, Ariz -17th, Atlanta - 18th, StL - 26th, Caro - 27th, and TB 32nd
I could contend that Sea and Ariz could be on par with Atlanta

SF got a lot of turnovers because they played a lot of bad teams that turned the ball over and against everyone they played, SF included.
The field is bone dry and no rain is expected and temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid - 60's. I expect them to water the field down in an attempt to slow down the Saints.
It will take a perfect storm of luck for SF to win this one.
Like I said, they'll keep it close for the 1st half with FG's, but trading FG's for TD's will eventually widen the gap between N.O. and S.F. and the Saints will win this one walking away.....
