Also Justin Tuck not 100% with a shoulder injury but insists he will play.
My own view is that CJ could run riot this week if the Giants play like they did against the Colts.

The last couple hours I've been all over the web researching games, crunching numbers, and scheming my way towards picking up a unit or three this weekend in the NFL. It's been a quirky beginning to the season, and the next few weeks should answer a handful of questions that are burrowed down in the back of my mind. Of course predicting some of those answers before they happen is a large step in picking up that cash.
- Vikings/Cowboys, are you gonna step up or lay down?
- Matt Ryan/Joe Flacco, are you guys ready to lead your team to a ring?
- Is Clausen gonna be the quarterback myself and a handful of other good cappers THINK he can be?
- Does the return of Big Ben and a healthy Pittsburgh defense make them the team to beat in the AFC?
- Is Matt Stafford made of clay?
- Just how good is Jay Cutler? Just how good are the Bears?
- Kansas City/Tampa Bay, are you guys for real?
- Where do the sneaky Patriots fit into this puzzle? Is Brady gonna add to his legacy(and Bellichik)?
- Is it me or does Kyle Orton resemble an NFL quarterback now? He looks more like the confident Purdue college guy that led his team to four consecutive bowl games, than the slightly overwhelmed pro guy in his first couple of seasons with the Bears(I wish he could have gotten a shot the year the Bears made a championship run.....Orton led them throughout the season while Rex was injured, and coach Smith decided before the NFC championship game to go to a healthy Grossman. I wonder what could have been if he got the start against Indy in the Super Bowl).
- Singletary/Manusky. You guys gonna coach the Niners into an NFC West title, or will you do things like leave the Saints almost two minutes to beat you when you had every opportunity to chew down the clock as you were driving for the tying touchdown in the 4th quarter of a badass Monday Night Football game(wow that was a long sentence).
- Who is the dumber individual? Braylon Edwards or Brandon Jacobs?
- I hate myself for it, but am I only guy that is rooting for Dog Killer? Not so much that I am rooting for that piece of shit, but I just like how he plays. So much talent. My neighbor's(my dads partner in crime) daughter graduated from VT, so her dad was big into the team over the years and always gassed them up when he came over on Saturdays(he was a gambler as well). Anyway, I like that x factor he brings to the table every time he lines up behind center. Too bad he is a despicable human being.
- Am I the only guy out there that doesn't pay any attention to TRENDS as a capping tool? I'm not even sure if that is a pro or a con on my gambling resume.
- Is the return of Santonio Holmes gonna jumpstart the Jet offense as much as I think he can?
Let me "submit" now. Covers has a tendency to eat a couple of posts on me each football season.

I am in the zone. I spent the last few days fighting off an inpending sickness. Crawled home from work and went straight to the doctor. I have bronchitis and the doc prescribed me some wicked cough syrup called Tusinex(my spelling is probably way off, but I don't feel like moving three feet and looking at the bottle).
Anyway, I realized the T contained Hydrocodone(the active ingredient of Vicodin), so I chugged the bottle in two large gulps in the late afternoon. I went from deathly sick, to TOP OF THE WORLD fucking ripped in the course of an hour. My afternoon went from chicken soup, sleeping, and feeling lousy to some PS3 action(Demon's Souls is amazing), episodes of the Pacific that I DVR'ed earlier in the summer, capping football games, and even hanging with my nieces while my sister and her husband snuck out to a steak dinner. After the kids left, I was still in awe at how good I suddenly felt, so I dug into my freezer and pulled out a couple of pot brownies which I ate one an hour for four straight hours starting around 10pm.
So many hours later, I find myself babbling like a vagina on a sports gambling website. And as I surf through the NFL forum, I realize that if you ignore the hordes of dopes, touts, wanna-be touts, wanna-be wanna-be wanna-be touts, internet bullshitters, and attention person, there are some cool motherfuckers in this community.
So
to all the guys who bring good information to the table throughout the NFL forum. A
for the guys that do it without being douchey. A
to all the asskissing that goes on in the process of gambling on sports. A
for glyde69 and his rambling blog. A
to guys like JoeBrenSports for being such failures. A
at threads like "Why winning is really losing(article) by Bryce Bell." A
just for the hell of it.
Time for bed.

Thanks RatherBGambling. Right back at you. You are an excellent contributor as well. Just Monday night I was quietly lurking in your "under backers unite" thread. That fucking safety!

Ok, here is what I got:
Pitt -2.5
Denver +5.5 I was souring a bit on this play with Bailey and Goodman hobbled, but Indy has some injury concerns of their own. Their right tackle is questionable. Clint Session and Pierre Garcon are battling hammy problems. Their defensive leader(Sanders) is hurt again. Anthony Gonzalez is done for over a month. So Denver isn't the only team hurting in this matchup.
Minnesota -11.5 I'm still holding out for a better line(even 11 is a small victory, imo), but honestly I don't think it will drop below 11.5.
Dallas +(hopefully 3). Classic case of you snooze, you lose. I could have had 3 earlier in the week, but my goals of being more patient and waiting a bit before locking my bets has a downside in that sometimes I lose out on the Mon-Wed early bird lines. Once upon the time this would have eaten me alive, but I can't be patient and not rush into bad bets AND always get the best line. So if I can get a reasonable 3 great. If not, I'll take the 2.5. Last I checked I had one book at +3(-125), and another book +2.5(-105). More times than not I'll take the 2.5 without that bullshit juice.
Bears +3. Haven't locked this yet. I'm hoping an influx of MNF Packer money drives this up, but we shall see.
Go get em boys! GL to all!

Looks like a winning card to me!

Oh yeah, I just had a random email convo with a former Covers legend who was banned years ago. He gave me the okay to put his picks on here, and I'm sure some of the old-timers on here remember him......
C-GOLD.

Martz has made all the difference with Cutler and he is making incredible throws. I now see why Bear fans were so excited when they went out and got him. I've been kinda lukewarm on him, but last week I saw him make two specific throws that I don't think three other QB's in the league could have made.
Outstanding observation!!!!!! I mean it,,, I couldn't agree with you more... I'm so glad someone else saw this,, I watched that game film (OK replay,,,,,game film sounds better though),, and was extremely impressed with Cutler and the offenses' adjustments in general.
I'm leaning heavy on NYJ ,,, trying to find reasons avoid it, but I think I may hit it hard...... I can't bring myself to "picturing" in my mind their offense putting togather more than two scoring drives. and I've never had much luck in capping special teams/def scores,,,,..May instead hit the under Miami TT....
Nice job,,,, solid thread, ![]()

Oh man, I remember at one point last year, you were like 1-12 trying to catch those bad teams in good spots. Don't sweat it too much though. Those bad teams are moneymakers; you just gotta catch them at the right time.
This Bronco game is pissing me off. Turnovers pretty much handed Indy 13 points. Now they have 3rd and goal at the 1 and they throw a fade?????

Yea.....I didn't see much of that game, but everytime I flipped onto it, they were doing something terrible. My dad was ranting and raving from the living room about how the Giants are trying to lose.
FUCKING BRONCOS......Goal line stand on top of the INT while driving, and muffed punt.

Agree with you on Denver...
JAX also sticks out as a large home dog +7. Colts back to back road games, and jax always plays indy close in the beginning of the season. i think jaxonville finally wakes up and plays the colts tough this game, you know the popular pick next week will be the colts "only" giving 7 to what the public percieves as an awful jaxonville team. if the colts do win this game i doubt it will be by more than 4
