Another thing about the game on Saturday, the Packer secondary was in bad shape for that game. Woodson didn't even make the trip. Brandon Underwood replaced him and started and he is horrible. Morgan Burnett is a rookie safety , he started. Our nickel backs are bad, bad, bad.
Weakest part of the Packers this year is the secondary. So take that into consideration , when looking at what Hasselback did in that game.
Watch him closely in Week 3

That Okung injury is bad news for them. He's going to miss the rest of the preseason at the very least. Even if he plays Week 1, he's a rookie and he missing a lot of reps now. I might back off on playing them Week 1 on that news alone. But maybe that's just me. Even Carroll said it's a big loss.

"And the Seahawks might have lost their cornerstone offensive tackle for the foreseeable future.
Rookie left tackle Russell Okung injured his right ankle on the first series and went to the locker room to be evaluated. He didn’t return.
Carroll said X-rays on Okung’s ankle came back negative for fractures, but he still needs to have an MRI.
Carroll would not rule out the possibility of a high-ankle sprain, which usually takes longer to heal.
“It’s going to be a bit,” Carroll said. “It’s a legitimate ankle sprain. So we’ll see how it goes.”
The Seahawks had to deal with a rash of injuries along the offensive line last season, cycling through four left offensive tackles as they attempted to replace Walter Jones. So Carroll understands the importance of Okung returning in a timely manner.
“It’s pretty significant,” Carroll said. “Obviously we made it as big of a priority as we could make it in getting him. So we’ll have to see how it goes. … That’s a big loss if he can’t come back.”"

Niners were 6th in the league against the run last year with 97 yards per game.
I think its going to be a very good game. Might back off. You might be right. Still some time before the season. Lots of time to make decisions. I guess health concerns could be a problem. I'm going to wait of course probably until around Monday the week of to make any plays. With the exception of Cincinnati. I might play them early.

a team like new england who everyone watches coming right into cincy this early
should be good
or right into the bengals i should say
and why dont people mention antonio bryant. hes a good player. that was before he was a buc but he should be good again :)
bucs arent gonna wanna be considered a bad team this year and are gonna wanna win that game against cleveland
that being said they dont have any talent and ill still take cleveland
the pack vs the eagles (especially at -1. i doubt it'll be that for me) is the official you have to take this game and win to have a good season
u just have to pick the pack. u have to win and thats it
good year ahead of you
lol anyways..
ill look for oakland to get better odds than +6.5 and take it
where i live ill be gettin it at at least 8
Thanks for your thoughts. I'm hearing rumors that Antonio Bryant may not even be on the team come week 1. A lot is being made about his injured knee. I'm guessing they are going to work out some kind of release. I'm not sure the details as of now, but its not looking good for Bryant. Looks like it will be Ocho Cinco, TO, Caldwell, Shipley, Simpson, and ? Fighting for 6. Matt Jones, Quan Cosby, or even Dez Briscoe. I'd imagine the player with the most special teams value.

Making the Detroit over an official lean. I don't believe there is any reason for Chicago to be laying 7 in this game either, but I think the over might be a good play in this game. I don't think Chicago has improved much over the past season. I do however think that Detroit has. The Julius Peppers is a good signing, but is he going to make that much of a difference. They did beat Detroit both times last season and handily in both games. The first time by 24 the second by 14. I do think Stafford reduces his turnovers greatly this season. I think the Lions have enough to stay in the game with the Bears. I think this will be a battle and probably high scoring, maybe even higher scoring than my score prediction. 43 seems to be a low total for this game. Even though its the regular season opener. I think that both teams put up points, I think that there will be some turnovers. Should be high scoring. Cutler did throw just as many INT's as touchdowns last season. Stafford had a bad season but was a rookie. I think he started to show some flashes of being a good qb. Like the weapons around him, and think Jahvid Best is a great addition to the offense. I think both teams defenses will be improved from last season. I think that this should be a good game and a high scoring one. Might even play the Lions in this one.
Bears 31 - Lions 28

I really think that the Chiefs push the Chargers hard in the AFC West. This could be a statement game, very early statement game. What better than Monday night, with an inflated line. Everyone questions Kansas City's defense. Which they should because they did finish 30th in defense last season. Allowing 26.5 points per game, and 156.5 yard a game on the ground. I really see them making huge strides on the defensive side of the ball. I really believe they finish in the top half which would be 15-1 in defense. Probably more like 15th but I really think they become a much better unit. Really like their linebacking corp. Good group I think. On the offensive side I think they will be very efficient. I think they have a great 1-2 pop at RB. I think Cassel is really starting to become a good QB. I like Bowe and Chambers at the wide out. Offensive line is decent. I also really love the addition of Dexter McCluster. I think this team is going to be pretty explosive on offense. I really think they make an early statement and beat the Chargers.

Detroit/Chicago Over 43 Kansas City Chiefs +5.5 Kansas City ML Seattle Seahawks +2 Carolina Panthers +7 Cincinnati Bengals +5.5 Cleveland Browns +3 Green Bay Packers -1 Tennessee Titans -6.5
Favoring some over others right now...Need to cut the list back at some point. The clappers are my favorite plays as of now.

You like KC + 5.5. Why? I like SD a lot in this game.
Why do you like San Diego? Division rivalry game. I think Kansas City will be the most improved team in the NFL. I think I did write above a couple of reasons I liked the Chiefs.

Looks like some pretty good selections for week 1. I always lean towards taking the points early in the season, everybody wants to jump out and bet the favs.

Personally....in week 1, I look for unders. Defenses are usually ahead of the game, especially with coaches who have been with the same squad for awhile (easier to scout by opponents). My experience says lay off the Packers week one against a pass happy Andy Reid. The Pack have some issues at corner and Kolb has to be good enough to exploit that. Hence why the line is 1 when the whole world is saying Green Bay could go the distance (I even have Green Bay playing Baltimore in the Super Bowl). That being said, week one should be total enjoyment with a few bucks layed here and there till we can start to piece together the puzzles.
Good luck Whodeye and everyone else on a great season
And sorry Whodeye, the Bengals will be a lot of fun when watching ESPN, ESPN First Take etc.....but I can't see this team playing a full season drama free. I see things blowing up (just because of personalities) around week 8. And that's sad. Cause that squad has some serious talent. And imo, a pretty damn good coach and quarterback. But since I'm a Lions fan (and thier hopeless, but turning it around, FINALLY imo) I will root for the Bengals to prove EVERYONE wrong, cause that would be a great story GL to all
