The addition of the Thursday game every week has diluted the product. When football was just two days a week it had more appeal. People got excited for the big Sunday slate of games and then one Monday night game.
Even college has games on days it didn't before. With some football game on almost every day of the week, people are less likely to watch a game they don't have rooting interest as it's not rare to find a game on TV these days.
Add in the health concerns and vast money NFL is taking in and you're going to lose some casual fans.

My sister and her group of friends stopped watching NFL because of the flag deal, military folk, thought it was disrespectful. Fair enough... For me, hell no, I gamble too much. I can careless if Kapp jumped off the GG bridge - to each his own.

For me, I also see this as an escape from Fox News/MSNBC where you don't get blasted with politics (except for ads during election season), but now even the sport itself is all about politics one way or the other.
Doesn't help the matchups and games suck, haven't featured star players, and they aren't "sexy" teams that people want to see. Granted, that's been a problem for a long time. Plus people are cutting the cord or you can watch on Twitter. Don't need cable anymore.

Two reasons If they show a player not standing I'm turning the channel. Players are paid a LOT of money to play, if they don't want a concussion don't play. I work my behind off in one of the top ten most dangerous jobs. I don't make major money , nobody gives a garbage about me except my family and co-workers and they want to cry because they got paid to play and got a concussion one too many times. Treat people like crybabies and they become crybabies.
