Can you believe it....

One hell of a ride for a Super Bowl to go -3.5/4 to -2.5 in a few days

I hear ya man, putting the Pats as favorites makes everyone think the Pats should be favored but....

-Could the books be cooking it to get Giants $ because they think the Pats win?
-Or, are the books simply running scared, with a bad #?

Books like to balance from two sides, they prolly need to lower Pats spread from -3 to -2.5 to lure NE money to counter early NY Giants money.

Alot of ppl are mentioning that these Giants are similar to the Packers and their run last year. But unlike the Packers of last year...the Giants have a much stronger backing ($) in the playoffs and I don't see that changing at all in the Superbowl.

If pushed at this point I would tend to agree to you, but if it's true it's plain obvious the books screwed up and made a bad spread.....

They shouldn't be pushing to "lure" money on -2.5 having "gotten" money on +3.5 because if the Pats win by a field goal they'll get middled.

And as of now it's only the MGM.  The key is do the rest follow, or does the MGM stand pretty much alone.

i'm guessing late Pats money will come, they're #1 seed in AFC and public will like that fact plus Brady bunch.

right, you would think that, that's what the books thought...so.....will it come.....

It's clear the MGM is running scared.  The other books aren't, as of now.  The key is, does the MGM stop running, or do the books join the MGM.  I'm sure we're going to find out soon enough.

Giants' Covers consensus has dropped to 59% from 63+% yesterday, they're not real money in Covers consensus but are perception which can be useful.

Right.  Imagine, Vegas has people picking the Giants over the public Pats.  Perople are betting against Tom Brady with conviction.

Is this a trap or a screwup

Reminds me of the NFC Championship when so much of the public was saying the 49ers are for real and going to beat the Giants.  Since when has the public been  on the 49ers so heavily.  Was a trap.

Anyways I got no play either man I'm watching like a hawk so we'll see

What I mean is that so much of the public was on the Giants ML not the points.....

5 Dimes has raised Pats' spread to -3 after dropping it and stayed at -2.5 for almost a week. Seems late New England money has taken on the upper hand.

It won't surprise me that if MGM jacks it up back to Pats -3 in short time.

i would think that spread should be stable at Pat -3 but Wynn has dropped to Pats -2.5 (-115) this morning.

Very strange - doesn't it appear theat these books would be vulnerable in the (unlikely?) event that the Pats win by exactly a FG?  I suppose it's better to get the action, rather than get a whole lot of pushes at 3, and they will just have to root, hope and pray for Pats not to win by exactly 3.

i think Vegas books are much more inclined to balance the sides than being worried about been middled. We know that spread did not matter much in SB history.

Strange, my local raised juice from Pats -3 (even) of yesterday to Pats -3 (-105) as of now but Wynn dropped Pats spread to -2 earlier  today from -2.5.

My local has made NE -3 @ +105. Guess they really don't want to move to 2.5
