Giants have covered 4 straight games. They just beat a spread by 30 points, winning on the road by 20+ points against a physical opponent that even in a shitty effort played a very physical ballgame. Fly cross country feeling good about yourselves but your body is actually pretty beat up. Come back to practice a little overconfident, meanwhile the opponent you're preparing for is the most difficult offense you've had to prepare for so far on the season. The winner of the ballgame is a coinflip, and by the way Skins D is 21st in DVOA and the Giants D is 15th in DVOA right now, you're basically talking about 2 mediocre defenses and the home d is actually the one due for a flat game due to how phenomenally well they played a week ago. Winner of the game is a true flip of a coin, would be more surprised if the Giants covered than if the Skins won the football game.
Also a note on Eli--he's great, maybe the 1 guy I'd want with the ball in the 4th quarter in the entire league. That said, the guy has consistently had at least 2 throwaway games every year of his career up to this point, including last year when he threw up 2 stinkbombs against the Skins and one against Seattle. That game hasn't happened yet, it will, no statistical evidence suggests that it won't happen and this is a really good week for that to happen.
