I hate to say it, but imagine if Peyton starts just for the sake of continuing his streak and walla! Bam! Goes a major injury and he misses the playoffs! The look on Polian and Caldwell's faces would be priceless! Can you say karma? ![]()

Buddy get over it vegas clearly knew. And so did a bunch of other people. I pointed out earlier the first half line was larger then the actual full game spread, that is really rare. Just looking at that people should have concluded what was going on. Now im not saying it was guarenteed to happen, but it was more likely then not. Hell painter could have come in and thrown 3 td's.

If the Colts can pick up or trade for a DOMINATE CB and a healthy Bob Sanders for the entire year. I think there chances are extremely high to go undefeated next year.

When a team gets this close to something sssoooo special you owe it to the players, the fans and the league to go for it.
How they can not look back and regret this is beyond me, especially if they win the SB.
Looking back at history it does not bode well for teams resting their starters this early, no team has gone on to win the SB that's rested their starters for the final 2 games or parts of the final 2 games.
The Colts forgot this lesson already as they did the exact same thing in 2004 when they opened the season 14-0, and then lost in the opening round.
Playing through the final game is a better recipe for success.
Case in point was 2007 when the G-men could have rested their starters in the final week but choose to try and beat the then unbeaten Pats, both the Pats and Giants played through the final game and both ended in the SB becuase of it.

Most of the defense didn't play the 2nd half and the Jets D scored a TD. You probably didn't watch this game did you?

You guys are just crying because you lost a bet.
Caldwell gutless?????? flexing his muscles?????.......really???
If any of you seriously think that the Colts players didn't know they would be coming out of the game at some point you're out of your damn mind. They saved a little face by sulking and shaking their heads on the sideline but they knew exactly was going to happen ahead of time. Nobody talks about the regular season losses during their Superbowl winning season. If anything, they talk about how bad their run defense was until it mattered most.....THE PLAYOFFS!
Jim Caldwell and the Colts have said time and time again that a perfect season has never been one of their goals. Meanwhile you look at a guy like Drew Brees who's been starry eyed for weeks fielding questions about going 16-0. Now they've lost two straight and Pierre Thomas is hurt. If Peyton was lost for the season in that meaningless game everyone would be saying "Why was he still in there? Dungy would have done the right thing"
Give Caldwell some credit he obviously has the respect of some pretty damn good players. That's why he can bench several when he sees fit while other coaches can't even bench one.......
"If you listen to the fans too much you end up sitting with them"

Cornerback Kelvin Hayden said some players were surprised by Caldwell's decision.
"We didn't have a clue he was going to do that," Hayden said.

#28 Posted: 12/28/2009 2:16:15 PMpeyton did not know he was coming out? why in god's name was would they keep cutting to him on the sidelines with that puss on his face? pierre thomas is always hurt. my favorite part of all this "sit your starters" crap is that anyone of them could pull a ron artest and fall down the stairs drinking too many bud lights. either way. colts threw the game and that sickens me as a football fan and long time jet hater. |

i don't have time to read all of this, but i'll hit a few points...
1) anybody using the argument that "Manning could have been hurt" doesn't know shit about football... the guy has never been hurt... he doesn't get hurt... that's a stupid and irrational fear to have over a single half of football... fuck off!
2) the Colts will definitely lose their first playoff game... i am a bigtime fan of Colts football, but their season ended against the Jets... they will not recover their morale from that loss... it was arguably the worst coaching decision i've ever seen... it will cost them a championship...
3) you don't stay sharp in the NFL by playing hard for 1 half of football... if you are not in "60 minutes of football" game shape when the playoffs start... don't bother showing up!
Colts will lose to the Pats in the Colts first playoff game, and it makes me sick to my stomach to say it...

I think the tears in Wes Welker's eyes shortly after his first play of the game have proven my point. This game meant more for New England that last weeks game meant to Indy but look at the cost they have suffered.....
Why does it take a MAJOR injury for people to see?
