Before this thread gets excited and calls this a potential dynasty how about 1 playoff vicotry followed by another and maybe 1 superbowl will come.

Geez and I thought my hopes and dreams of just 1 championship is realistic here in Philly.

In 1991 how many playoff games...

(a) ...had Troy Aikman won as a starting NFL QB in his career?

(b) ...had Jimmy Johnson/Barry Switzer won as an NFL head coach?

Hmmmmm..........

Keep Spinning ..... Sorry I couldnt find a thread where back in 91 it stated the COWGIRLS would be a dynasty before they won a playoff game.

Just a ludicrous statement to make when you havent won 1 superbowl or even a playoff game for that matter.

A Dynasty ... you haven't won a playoff game in 10 seasons.

I can understand realism and wishful thinking but geez what a hunch.

I still fail to realize how this is a "ludicrous" statement as you suggest...

Say they do even 1 less than last years record and go 12-4 win the superbowl... Then I am suppose to ask the question ??? How trendy would that be... happens with just about ever superbowl team... how original... puhhhh leeez man

Ill ask the question way in advance... is it the making or not and why... its too late to ask this question after they have won a superbowl IMO... you will already have hundreds of other thinking the same thing..

You had AIkman/Irvin/Smith

I dont think Romo is Aikman, TO is coming to an end and sure enough your starting RB isn't one of the greateset RB of all time.

Lets say you win the superbowl all the above now plays a huge part and now a days its about making as much as possible as soon as possible.

Again win 1 game then 1 superbowl.

 

I mean is NE a dynasty? 3 out of the last 7 years? I heard talks if they won that 4th then yes but they didn't and I don't see how Dallas Cowbooys can win 4 out of the next 7 to even put it out there as talks of a dynasty.

ALLABOUTME - I think you got this whole thing all wrong buddy, NOBODY is trying to say IT IS the next dynasty...  Nobody's saying that.

Is it possible though? Is the talent there? Sure, it's possible and that's all anybody's saying here. Just like in the early 90's when the Cowboys loaded up on all that talent and then came the dynasty of the 90's. The pieces were put in place then and they've been put in place now; a good young QB who continues to improve after just 1.5 seasons as a starter, very talented position players, very good lines on both offense and defense, and a defense with excellent pass rushers and playmakers who may have just shored up possibly their only previous weakness in the secondary.

It's there...the question is if they all these pieces can put the final puzzle together? That's the question, and it's really up to them. The rest of us are just spectators who will enjoy seeing how it plays out...

See my response above thats why they won't be.

A ton of teams in the last 10 years have had way better teams put in place but haven't even won a superbowl let alone multiple and hoping to become a dynasty.

Just my 2 cents.

Either way BOL this season should be great to see your O very the EAGLES D.

They were top 10 last year and the expectations are TOP 5 this year.

this is coming from a raven fan mind you, but this current dallas roster is BY FAR the most talented roster i have ever seen in the NFL since the 95 cowboys. they are even more talented then NE, Indy or SD. the thing that sets those teams (except for SD) apart from Dallas is coaching which this dallas team is talented enough to overcome.

you guys trashing dallas do realize that the cowboys set A NFL RECORD FOR MOST PROBOWLERS IN A SEASON WITH 13!!! now you add in Pacman, which regardless how you feel about him as a person, is a top 10 CB (brian balldinger thought pacman was the best CB in the NFL by the end of the 2006 season) and the best return man not named Devon Hester (pacman has 5 return TD's in 2 years). plus you add a verteran leader at LB (zach Thomas) that dallas was sorely lacking because there play recognition was lacking last year and Zach is the best in the league at diagnosing plays. Add that to the fact that this is the second year being in the offensive and defensive systems AND this is only Romo's SECOND FULL YEAR AS A STARTER, i think the original posters question was legitamate and could very well come to fruition

And add top pick Mike Jenkins at CB (who I think will be something special) and Felix Jones as not only the change of pace back, but to me even more importantly, a threat on kickoff returns. Special teams got a HUGE upgrade with Pacman on punts and Felix on kickoffs...

I never knocked the Cowboys. However the reasons I have above makes what you say above the reason they wont be a dynasty.

To many Big Names which means to many Big Pay Days which means if they win a superbowl together they won't all last on the same team together.

They are a very talented team with alot of Big Names but why even play this year or the next 5 since you already have them winning it all. Another PAPER CHAMPION TEAM. We seen many times how that worked itself out.

Superbowl in the next 3 years very likely, Dynasty unlikely.

 

PS what is everyone defintion of a DYNASTY?

A team that is going to compete and make the playoffs and contend for a championship year in and year out? or one that wins 3 superbowls in a row? 4 out of 7 ... what?

Its very unlikely we will ever see a true team dynasty in football again. Just my $.02

Not saying they going to win this year, i hope so , but how do you say they have to many big names???  Besides T.O. and hamlin , How many players did they get in free agency ? They built this team through the draft

I would love to see that! I watched Jefferson play in high school right here in El Paso! He was an absolute stud coming out of Parkland High School...went to Univ. of Arizona, didn't work out and went to Montana St. He was somewhat of an unknown, but, I know the kid can play, I'd love to see him emerge as the guy...

Let's see them beat Green Bay first. Then the Giants. But yeah, they are improved. I thought last year the one thing they were missing was an explosive runner, someone who can be lightning to Barber's thunder. They got that in Jones, no doubt.
 
The pieces are there but there are lots of real good teams in the NFC at this point.

Okay i gotta get my 2 cents in here. First of all a dynasty should include 2-4 superbowls in a short period of time. The Cowboys havent even won a playoff game since something like 1996. Is this team a legitimate contender for the superbowl...YES, but one is hard enough and not until i see that first superbowl parade will i even consider them a contender for a dynasty. Very good teams need to win it all before they can be considered. Otherwise we would have called the Buffalo Bills of the 90's and the Colts of the past 8 years potential dynasties. 
 
The Cowboys are very good, but havent done anything yet.
