    thoughts?

IMO Seattle will not score in this game... but even against this very soft Seattle defense, I'm not sold on Chicago scoring more than 24 points ... I will most likely be on the Bears small tomorrow, but I might hit the under a little harder.

Yeah, this total is tough for me.  I don't expect Seattle to score more than 13/14 points, but the question is, how many will the Bears put up? The total was dropping in the GB/ATL game and see how that one turned out....  Good luck though!

    Jets +16

    I'll bite.

Interesting...I would think Bears -3 / Pats -2 would be a better one.  In any case, I have Bears -3 / Steelrs +4 as my 3rd play this weekend.  Let's go Jets!!!

Seahawks will have to run the ball the way they did against New Orleans.  Seems very unlikey.

    bodio...
After really thinking about it, the Bears -10 doesn't scare me... The more I have thought about how the Bears really made some bad mental errors that last game, Briggs was injured, and Cutler now has an arguably better Offensive line they really seem solid at -10.
I hardly EVER play props, but I also like Cutler over 1.5 touchdown passes here.

Right on my friend.  New Orleans are 16th in rushing D and give up 4.3 yards per carry.  Bears are #2 in rushing D and give up nly 3.7 yards per carry.  BIG difference here...

Absolutely right on.  A lot of 'factors' here that favor the Bears.  Laying 10 in this situation is not as 'scary'....Good luck brutha

    Bodio,

Love your insight and I'd like to hear your take on some of these stats/trends. Don't know if you pay any attention to these but to me, can't be overlooked:

I read these stats on another site and thought they would be valuable to consider today before making a play on the Chi/Sea game.....

QBs making their first playoff start are 5-19 straight up since 2003. A little further investigation reveals that they are also 1-10 ATS since 2002. Cutler himself is 1-8 ATS when favored by 6 or more and 0-3 ATS when favored by -9  Now throw in the fact that Chicago hasn't been favored by more than 6' all year and that teams coming off straight up wins in the playoffs as underdogs the following week of 7 or more are 6-1 ATS since 2002 and I think there may be some value in taking the 10' points here.

With those kind of stats staring ya down do you really trust Jay Cutler to lead us to the promised land ATS today?

    Thoughts?

Harley these stats were already brought up about first time qbs...Jay has a top 5 D and one of the best special team units behind him...Bears were still trying to find a starting Oline in the first matchup, they were w/o Garza,Briggs and Pisa was banged up..what about the stat of the team who knocks off defending champs as a dog...arent they 1-12 or some shit?

I think the stat to be concerned about is Sea losing games by 15+ pts...NINE GAMES THIS SEASON...these two teams went opposite directions after the first meeting

I agree Bucknuts, conflicting stats there, but with the 1-12 ATS stat the one cover was a favorite laying DD. I believe the Bears win straight up (12-0 as far as stats go ) but laying that kind of lumber is scarey given the numbers.

WOW !!  That was a extremely well written piece Bodio.  I also would say its the most informative post I've ever viewed on this site.

PLEASE NOTE: When you bring such a writeup to this site, your genuine members will show appreciation, and of course the degenerates will hate.  Please don't let that stop you from posting.  This site needs your very interesting angles and informative writeups.

Even if one does NOT agree w/ the play, the information provided is FOR REAL.  Again, very well written sir !!  If your capping skills are anything like your writing skills,,,,,,,,no doubt CHI is the play....

this game will be within a touchdown. This is playoff football hawks won't go out without a fight. This reminds me of two years ago when the cardinals fought their way to the superbowl although I think hawks can beat the packers I do however think they have a shot to beat the bears or at least keep it close.

Classic,  great RESEARCHED OPINE of any game albeit from a "homer" Bears slant, you "sold" my $$$$$ on da BEARS. Home, well rested, despiteJay  , and Monsters of Midway "D"

da BEARS SHOULD totally shut down frigid Seahags, methodically  using Martz new found rushing "mentality", I agree Hawks may not score 10 as long as CUTLER doesn't turn ball over

Thanx and I'm all over the alts here Bears in a BLOWOUT, besides seahags = vikings, remember that game Played at  under 20'

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but a Jan game in Chicago is  also a major difference from first game.  Chicago it is
