Thats the fucked up part of this game is that even when you make the wrong or right pick it doesnt matter. You can win or lose anyways. Its why they play the game. But if you truly believe you made a good call after watching that game your a moron. The refs won that game for Chiefs. Hate to break it to you, but wagers are graded based on the final result. So if you want to think that your losing wager was the "right pick", go right ahead if it makes you feel better. It certainly won't make you a better handicapper though.
Do you base your "right pick" on who your perception of the better team is? Perceptions change during the course of the season. Your early perception may not be the same as your later perception. How many people thought Detroit was super bowl bound at 5-0 before they lost two games? Not me, but plenty of people based their perception of the team on what happened those first 5 games, with roughly 2/3 of the season remaining. So they lost 2 games straight and now of course the perception is quite different. Also, without going into much detail about it, perceptions vary from person to person.
Do you base your "right pick" on the events which transpire during the game. EVERY SINGLE GAME has events which transpire, culminating in a final result. You seriously going to tell me that the events which transpired in the final minutes are more important than other events which also transpired during the game. Of course nobody who had KC is going to complain about some of the crappy penalties which went against them or Cassel's mistakes or the conservative KC play calling which resulted in something like 5 total yards of offense in the 2nd Q until KC finally got a first down or two and kicked a FG before Half Time.... because they won their bets when it was all said and done. Only the SD losers are going to be complaining, but does that make it legit? If you really think only the final moments are what determines whether you had the right pick or wrong pick, then I propose simply not playing a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Quarter. For that matter, let's skip most of the 4th Quarter as well. Let's just make every football game 2 minutes long. Sounds pretty stupid, huh? Well that's how your argument sounds to me.
You have a beginning of a game and an end of a game, and a whole bunch of chaos and happenings in between. All that matters ultimately is the final score. What is so hard to grasp about that?
Imagine that you never, ever got to see or hear about any games. All you get to do is your handicapping, and then see a final result. You still going to determine whether the pick was right or wrong based on anything other than the final result? Of course not. Saying your loser pick was actually the right pick is ludicrous!
All your dreaming and complaining of what could have been, should have been is wasted thought and energy diverting you from the crux of the matter which is......THE FINAL SCORE and how your thinking and methodology delivered you a winner, or crapped on you with a loser!
Good luck improving your handicapping skills when you won't even acknowledge that the final result is what determines whether your pick was right or wrong. If you stubbornly cling to the notion that your pick was "right", in spite of whether your bet cashed or not, then you are doomed to continue making your "right picks" and continue accumulating losses. All for the sake of salvaging pride and not acknowledging quite simply that your losing pick was WRONG!

Yeah, making a losing pick and believing it was right leads to the same thing. Repeating the same failed logic and reasoning because even though you lost, you believe you were right. KC or no play ....plus most KC betters bet early and had KC + 3 1/2 OR +4...so the rivers fumble was a nitemare for us also..
He looked quite distraught after the game, a game they were well prepared for and had to win.
