You’re 110% correct. Is it really about putting asses in the seats long term, or winning championships, my guess is, it’s whichever is more profitable, am I wrong? If they let him run,they won’t lose many games , and have a better chance of winning it all, even it’s just twice.

100% intentional. We see it all the time. Drive down pretty far....chewing off clock....then turn it over or sabotage your drive.....just like they do in college football.
Happens in the NBA all the time, too. When they want the under....guys start driving to the hoop like 8th graders in gym class, turn it over, trip over each other, throw up hail marys, etc, etc
