Just kidding. They’re tanking this year. No Kyler until Week 14-15.
Unless one of those backup QBs is the truth, this year’s Cards are the 2022 Bears.

Three weeks ago the Cards win total was 5 1/2. Today, at many books it's 4 1/2. Got the under of 5 1/2 @-150 back then.
Do you think -150 is like good ?

I think AZ will actually be better without Murray. I think it's going to be one of those seasons where they have some surprise success early on, and then do worse when he's back on the field. Then in the offseason, the chatter will be about trading Murray or not. Bidwell will insist on sticking with his guy, and the Cards will be mediocre for another 4 years.

You could be right. Murray is overrated and the team will know they have to rally together behind someone else now.

laying 1.5 to win 1.

I see them as a four win team. Kyler won’t be back until November/December if they’re smart. Their OL is much improved, but:
- CB is a D+ and I’m a fan
- RB is 1.5 RBs deep
- after McCoy you may as well be QB
- they no longer have a big WR who can run clean routes
- they have five incentives to tank, and less incentives not to tank
- DL depth is pretty weak, C-
I think they keep Gannon and MO for at least three years, but this is a tank year and it would be stupid to rush Kyler back to a non-playoff team

I am a fan. I know them well. The second Kyler went down I was texting out “tank year.”

I designated 2023 as a tank job when Kyler tore his ACL. He won’t be back until November.
The reason why they were so bad last year is they started 82 players due to injuries. Their OL was starting 4th-5th stringers and McCoy was getting 2 seconds to pass.
Hopkins missed half of last year, not surprised to see them try to get younger across the board. Watt’s loss will hurt, but they did actually invest in their DL last year.
The coaching change is an upgrade though. I like Kliff’s scheme, but the guy could never get the plays into Kyler in time. It’s why Kyler famously blew up at him in that one famous clip. It doesn’t take 4 years to learn how to call a play in 20 seconds.
And Vance Joseph may have been a good DC in a prior decade, but not anymore. He paid zero attention to analytics that teams like the Bengals use. Joseph would actually be a good coach if he just incorporated analytics and more recent trends, but it’s like he didn’t bother to watch films on how other teams were stopping next week’s opponent.

Oh yeah, I think the 2024 Cards should be much improved. Had to get all the old slow guys off the roster first, Keim turned it into a retirement community for old NFL players.
