Can we talk about the game management of ATL last night?

if it was injury related then I understand. But it seems like “cousins got benched” rather then he stepped down due to injury

I don’t get what’s so hard to grasp about the concept of rookie qb’s being shit on their first road start and the falcons deciding to go through with penix anyway in a must win game!!!

Well Falcons never used Kirk right. Not many (Peyton Manning probably being the best at it of all time) run the play action like Kirko does. Plus with having Bjion Robinson back there play action passing has to make the linebackers bite. Do you know how much play action passing the Falcons scripted for Kirk? Nearly none. Yes sometimes he would audible to one but rarely scripted. They frankly never used him right. I think next year with a fully healed Achilles and a team that uses him right he will be very productive again. Will he lead a team to the Superbowl probably not but productive. He isn't yet washed.

Game management by Falcons was very suspect.  The Td by Falcons on 4th and goal from 20 was hilarious.  Wash D was where?  So much of that game was just stupid.  Same as ending to MIN-GB game…blowout to 2 pt game!  NFL is dumbest shit ever now.  Best thing to do is middle every game on Primetime tv……Min +1 and GB +14

Every book I know allows it. You might be surprised that results on a typical 6, 6.5 or 7 point tease are not profitable over the long haul. Plus he didn't say tease. He said that he has WASH ML and ATL +10. You could have both. I had MIN PK (pregame) and GB +9.5 (live). Those offering do happen.

Hard to believe that honestly TJZags598. Kirk has been a positive locker room presence since he stepped into the league. Never heard any thing bad about Kirk in any locker room he ever stepped into. That being said, Penix has looked as good as Kirk this year so maybe the problem is ATL in general. Coaching, other players, etc.

That doesn't mean they hate Cousins as you said. Maybe there are some (don't even know if a majority or minority) that feel Penix is better. Honestly that quote doesn't say much at all.

What’s my narrative? Read the entire thread. Ive stated many times in this thread that rookie qbs on their first start on the road are shit. I’ve also stated that not a single rookie qb thrown into a playoff push has succeeded. Tj Yates and lamar Jackson were inserted into their roles at the beginning of the season so they had much time to prepare for playoff caliber football. Shaun king lost 45-0 in his first road start and beat backup cade mcnown in his only road win start that season. 

you seem to not like to read between the lines which is fine, but you will always be a sheep. 

Kirk is good but he can't save ATL.  Penix is good but he can't save ATL.

Now, i do think you are correct that its probably a organizational culture issue, in Atlanta, because cousins was loved in Minnesota.

But, why did Cousins leave Minnesota? strange.

I dont think Kirk is physically able to compete and that is the issue. Its not just that hes been bad the last few games its that where he is health wise is not nearly as good as throwing the rookie out there

Where are the facts to back up your logical statement of Penix being the better option? His time at Washington? His high school high light tape? His pre season snaps?

I am not reading between the lines. I just read what you wrote, and responded to what you wrote. I didn't imagine these things.

Then you add qualifiers. you are right, everyone else is wrong.

I mean , if i take you literally, mid season would be game # 9, so it would be hard to find a rookie QB put in in game #9 in any season. and then it would have to be a road game.
