This game is very hard to gage cause the Vikes base on facts and #s have been stellar if you look at recent matchups.
GB can only beat what is in front of them and they did it convincely. Because Det/Clev played without some of their key players, it doesn't mean it wasn't an easy win and to shut those 2 teams out, it tells you this team is focus. I am very certain GB has this game circle, they could of look ahead but never did.
In a heated rivalry, I believe it's very hard to beat the same team TWICE. All I know is, Vikings have been 0-2 L2 ATS and this could be #3 if you look at betting this game from that perspective.
Philly didn't look stellar against Oakland nor did they look stellar last yr. against Skins - losing twice. But they manhandled them on MNF. If you cap that game base on #s and data alone, than it was a no-brainer to back Skins +pts and look what happen?,,,but #s and data don't always put money in your pocket.
Books don't make alot of mistakes and there's no way they are going to make mistakes with this line. All angles as I've stated are pointing to a Vikings WIN straight up and the books are throwing us a curve ball with a -3 for GB. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Completely agree with you. I think that the reason GB is -3 is because they are at home and a lot of people are going to be on GB because of the emotional revenge. Seriously if you are basing your bet on the fact that GB wants to win you need to find another angle (and I am not saying that you are saying that but I know a lot of people will bet this way). Lets not forget MIN has a lot riding on this game too. This game is EQUALLY important for BOTH teams. Additionally, I think the reason the line is -3 is because GB has beat two very bad teams convincingly. If they lost of those games the line would be close to a pick or MIN -3. Therefore, I would say THANK YOU GB for beating two really bad teams without a lot of their starters and I will take the points. Further, the absolute best play here is a 7 point teaser and take MIN +10 and the over. I would be SHOCKED if that bet lost. BOL!

Refs blew the game. Cant put blame on Farve if u watched the game.
Oh i love these posts... please tell me that you are joking because if you arent you must have lost alot of money on that game... if youre talking about the tripping penalty... i see where you wouldnt have liked that if you were on the vikings... however earlier in the game heath miller got called for a Offensive PI (clearly it was not if you saw the play) on a play that would have taken the steelers down to the 5 yard line and probably in for a td, fg at worst...
So drop the refs blew the game chirade and give the credit where it is due... the vikes fucked up and the steelers took advantage.. end of story...

I would love to hear your insight on this one. . .
You can blame the pick all you want on chester taylor, but it was still a pick... the series before that he got stripped and it was returned for a td, when he wasnt even hit... he just was playing with the ball like a rookie and got it stripped. So lets break it down... his last 2 series he had 2 turnovers resulting in 14 points for the other team.... he played good before that right? Hmm.. well his offense put up 10 points... that wont get it done against the raiders... especially when he gives the other team 14... so i guess when you think about it he did score alot of points 24... 14 for pitt and 10 for the vikings... without the harvin return this game is a route because the vikings couldnt score... not even on 3 tries from the 1/2 yard line... so ya id say he didnt play well

nice try Pitt homer.. im not even a viking fan, nor put money on that game, but living in Hawaii, this was one of the 2 games that were on.. and was the better one.. anyways, even if heath had caught that ball and be in the red zone, what wouldve happened? anything right? probably wouldve gotten nothing as Pitt was 0-3 in the red zone that game.. while the vikings were 1-5.. shouldve been 2-5 with that Rice catch.. the Vikings won in every facit of that game except for rushing.. big ben was 14-26 175 yrds with a td and 90 of those came on 2 throws.. Brett was 34-51 340 yrds and a pick.. which was the pick Chester dropped.. look with your eyes boy as Roethlisberger didnt do shit that game either.. THE D won that game.. as for the dancing in the pocket, it was a 3 step drop which he pumped to the outside to draw the safety on the slant and hit whoever was comin across the middle.. like he was doing all day on Pitt's weak secondary.. ultimately Pitt did win that game, but was no means an easy one and couldve gone either way.. but would you lay a td with them again? probably not
Id love to see Pitt/ Vikes again at +6 and id happily put half of my roll on Minnesota..

and yes id take Vikes + anything against GB.. Brett and co would love to hang 2 L's on the Packers.. Favre always comes out on the big stage, and none bigger than going back to Lambeau and shredding up some cheese.. GB will be in for a long long day..
The game comes down to GB's Oline against probably the best DLine in the game.. if GB allows what 9 sacks again, no way they even come close this game.. they also need to get their run game going as Minnesota's run d has looked very suspect this season which is a shocker being that this d has been the best at stopping the run the last 3 years.. Vikings have a much improved pass d even with the loss of Darren Sharper.. maybe no Antoine Winfield and thatll hurt Minnesota.. you already know what youre gonna get with the Vikings which will be 20+ carries by AD and around 30 drop backs for Favre.. even tho Favre played well against Pitt, no TD's and over 50 passes concern me which says they couldnt run or was behind and a little of both were apparent last week.. all in all, i say Minn does win this game as theyll get to Rodgers and play ball control with a bunch of dump offs/ screens, under routes and a few deeps plays along with AD getting his..
GL to all!

Like I said, the books don't make alot of mistakes,,,esp., with this line. AND believe me when I tell you this but GB winning their L2 games are NOT enough to get ppl to jump on their bandwagon.
BOL.....I don't touch teasers or parlays,,,just SU winners.

First off, welcome to covers.com...
We gave the game to the Steelers on a silver platter and they took advantage, plain and simple. TOs are part of the game, I am not arguing that. And yes, I will blame the pick on CT because it was a nicely throw ball that went off his fingertips. The Vikings run that play a lot and 9/10 times that gets them 7 plus yards. The Vikings drove down the Steelers throat most of the second half and they shut down the Steelers "potent" offense. Favre played pretty well IMHO. He made some great decisions where in the past he would have thrown more bonehead throws. You can also say the the Steelers couldn't do jack and that the Wallace tuddie was a fluke since we completely dominated your offense the ENTIRE game. There are a ton of wouldas and couldas, point is we lost and I am impressed with Favre's play.

i blame the pick on Bead Childless. Why the fuck you got CT in tehre when you got manzilla who almost decapitated a pitt d back on the bench! have you rbest players in there. and if you saw the pick, it would have been rigth at AD's head!

Didn't Farve shit the bed and lose 4 of his last 5 last season. Including two lowly loses to the Niners and Broncos to knock the Jets out of the playoff picture.
After Brett's latest press conference, he's saying he doesn't feel well blah, blah, going on about true Green Bay fans vs true Brett Farve fans. He looks out of sorts, and he is sweating this one big time. I would not be the least surprised if he throws 4 picks in this one and they lose by ten.

The Packers winning the last two games had very little to do with them being favored by 3 in this game. The next day at 1PM immediately following the Vikes win earlier in the season, the Week 8 lines were posted (along with all the other lines for the rest of the season) and GB was already -2. So to the person who said had it not been for the last two GB wins, Minn would be -3, that is wrong. This line is based much more on the revenge/divisional rivalry factor than it is actual facts. Minn SHOULD be favored here, because they are the better team.

Minny only won by 7pts at home vs. GB. It's not like they blew out GB and dominated every aspect of the game. Rodgers was able to march up and down the field so I believe @ home, they should be able to pull this one out.
GB got the offense to keep this game close and being at home is a HUGE advantage. Ask...Minny.

choioi that final score was very, very, very misleading. MIN lead by 17 or so but played prevent defense that last 7:30 of the game and let GB get back into it. MIN did dominate every aspect of that game a few weeks ago. That being said, you really cannot rely upon that for a gauge of what to expect this week. Nor do I expect a blow out either way. I just like getting points and will take the MIN ML as well. BOL!

I am pretty sure you nor I know exactly what is taken into account for a line to be released but this is what I do think gets taken into account (I believe in this order):
Injuries, public perception, trends, current performances (last two GB wins) and lastly with the least amount of consideration the emotional aspect of the game.

Minn SHOULD be favored here, because they are the better team.
I am pretty sure you nor I know exactly what is taken into account for a line to be released but this is what I do think gets taken into account (I believe in this order):
Injuries, public perception, trends, current performances (last two GB wins) and lastly with the least amount of consideration the emotional aspect of the game.
choioi that final score was very, very, very misleading. BOL!
I had Minny that game and Jared Allen was a BEAST. There's 2 versions of BF in the L5 yrs,,the old BF (superbowl champs) and the new BF (choke artist)....haha, I believe we are going to see the new BF this wk.

If it happens it happens. As you know there is more to this game than BF. Most people will not get past BF and this revenge factor. There is a lot more at play here. For the record, I am not saying that person is you.
So are you officially on GB -3 then because it seems like you have gone back and forth for a while. BOL on whatever you play!

14 for pitt and 10 for the vikings... without the harvin return this game is a route because the vikings couldnt score... not even on 3 tries from the 1/2 yard line... so ya id say he didnt play well
if you think that strip was BF fault you are nuts
that was just an incredible def play
and if you think brett botched that tackle you are even more nuts
he realized he is a starting QB in the NFL
get out of the way!!!!
pitt won with 2 def scores in the 4thQ!!!!!do you watch football at all?
how often do u think pitt is gonna get 2 def scores in the 4thQ?????

I already dropped the Hammer on GB ML. I played this through my mind a bunch of times before starting this thread.
There's a small % of ppl out there who thinks Vikes will lose back/back "tough" road games and I am one of them.

Ask...Minny.
wow are you just looking at the score or did you watch the game?????
minn sacked rodgers 8 TIMES!!!!!!!!!! 1 safety 2 ints 30-14 with 3 mins left
2 late scores by GB
VIKES KILLED THEM!!!!!!!!!!
