NE has had one of the best defenses in the league since Brady came in .... IMO only Pitt and Balt better. NE goes as their defense goes, like most Super Bowl winners in recent memory.
No doubt Brady is great, but his defense has carried them a little bit don't ya think? IMO Manning would have at least as many SB's with that defense behind him.
And as far as the "winner" argument goes..... doesn't BigBen have more 4th quarter comeback wins than Brady already? That to go along with his 2 SB's in 3 less years. Can you imagine Brady or Manning behind Pitt's Offensive line? They would have been retired by now.

You can argue forever on this topic. Best pure passer DAN MARINO with no running attack facing sometimes 8D/B .As well one dimensional Q/B couldn,t get out of key situations or scramble at all. Teams knew this and still set the TD/PASSING YARDS in a season until now.NO SUPERBOWLS THOU. MONTANA , YOUNG, BRADY play on an all ALLSTAR STAFF TEAMS. and winning those SUPERBOWLS. SWITCH Q/B and see how many SB. the trio would have one. Q/B these days get too much protection and this is why the rules were implemented to help save them from getting hurt.P.S. different era now . ALL the Q/Bs would be hard press to win and survive in the70,s.

True although Peyton does have 4 full seasons on Brady.
While 4th quarter are very good indicator of a quality quarterback the numbers are not reliable as it is not an official NFL statistic so each team calculates the number of comebacks themselves.
Interesting information on that here, here, and here. It seems that Marino has more then Elway.
If there was a standardized method of calculating a QB comeback I would guess that Manning had more then Brady but again he has played more games too.

Colts no running game and subpar defense and the pats had one of the best defenses during their superbowls. Not to mention one of the most clutch kickers that saved their ass a bunch, a few phantom calls from the refs and lets say a bit of cheating "spygate".

agreed! Serb... is Matt Cassel the best QB in the NFL? cuz in that system, he looked just as good as Brady...
Brady is top 5 for sure, but put him on most teams and he wouldn't get nearly as much publicity... let's remember he was thrown into that system as a rookie and went to the SuperBowl... system QBs are stat QBs... we are talking about who is the best...

if your are saying this because of the knee injury you couldnt be more dead wrong. look at other qbs around the league that have suffered a torn acl during their professional career.
carson palmer in my opinion has never been the same.
donovan mcnabb- took him almost a full year to recover and return to his old form. and to this day sometimes very hesitant on running with the ball and stepping up into the pocket.
and look away from qbs for a minute. did u watch the oak sd game monday night? shawn merriman was running like there was something up his ass. he was running all over the field favoring his one leg.
and look at brady took him 3 1/2 quarters to return to form. now i know only the next few games will tell us where he is but if i was putting money on him i would say he will be back sooner that later.
