Sure ...they had no skill in the game..  Perfect red zone defense...and clutch passing in the last 2:00 min to make history.....all a fluke..

I love it. People are so dumb and they dont even realize how dumb they are.

packers are lot more banged up than everyone thinks and they tend to play down to lesser teams level. the bears are healthy home and have a better run game . unless culter throw 2 to 3 picks bears sueak out a home win

Train - I have oppsite on all 4 of your picks.

Chicago Defense and cold wind in soldier field can even be too much for rodgers arm.  No running game catches up to them as they can't control the clock and bears keep them off the field with 3 and outs and their running game.

Steelers certainly deserve to be there more than the Jets, Jets, Jets.  They squeeze by NE because of a once a season bad game by brady and NE inability to cover the pass.  Sanchez will not be able to pass against steelers defense and the injured Trop P.  Steelers have home field for a reason, don't even see this one being close.

     This thread looks familiar... I've been involved in a few of these debates.  And I love them!

     On the third and 19, here's my take for what it's worth.  Sure the odds are you don't complete that.  Joe Montana and Jerry Rice don't complete that half the time.  But to say it was lucky... the more talent you have, the better your odds of doing those things when you have to.  Someone once said, "Great teams aren't always great.  They're just great when they have to be."  Was it a fluke when Ben and his team drove 80+ yards to win the SB in '08?  Was the play in Baltimore a fluke?  Was it a fluke when Polamalu picked off Flacco and scored in the '08 Championship to seal the victory?  Was it a fluke when the HEAVILY FAVORED Colts gained 25 yds of offense in the first 20 minutes of the game in the '05 divisional game IN INDY when the people on ESPN were saying that the Colts would absolutely CRUSH the Steelers?  Is it a fluke that Pittsburgh will tie Dallas with the most postseason wins EVER with 33 if they win Sunday?  Is it a fluke that the Steelers have been in 5 Conference Championship games in the last 10 years?

     Do you see my point?  These flukes sure are happening a lot.  They may just "fluke" their way to a 7th Lombardi Trophy this year.

     I guess the problem I have with this game and the Jets winning it is that the great teams in history usually don't lose games like this.  Sure the Jets are good, but this Steelers team has been there and done that.  Several times.  They've won these games several times.  And they know what it's like to lose playoff games.  Not that the Jets don't, but the Steelers have played in so many more playoff games in the recent years, and they have two rings.  They know what it takes.  The Jets may learn, but I just don't think it will be this year. 

     And the reason why is Ben.  The guy wins.  That's all he does.  Sure it's a team sport.  And he couldn't do it without Ward, Mendenhall, Wallace, Harrison, Polamalu, Woodley... but he's like Bradshaw.  He's like so many other greats that won consistently.  That's all he knows how to do.  He is the X factor.  If he has the ball in his hands Sunday with 2:00 left and he needs a TD, he'll get it.  They drove the length of the field in their first meeting with the Jets at the end and the Jets could not stop them.  I watched the play 10-15 times from different angles, and Spaeth just wasn't able to haul in a perfect pass from Ben in the end zone on the second to last play of the game.  The Jets were lucky to win that.
 
     But now they're gonna have Polamalu.  Now they're gonna have Heath Miller.  Now they're gonna have Aaron Smith.  It's funny, but looking back, the Jets are probably a better team than the Pats.  But they're not better than the Steelers.  They're just not.
 
     And sure upsets happen.  I wouldn't be shocked by any means if the Jets pull the upset.  It wouldn't be that much of an upset.  But I give the Steelers the edge because of what I was talking about above.  They have the intangibles as well as the great talent.  They have what they call "IT".  And I believe this team will go down as one of the best teams EVER.  I think they'll go on to win this game and the Super Bowl.  And I think they'll win a fourth and maybe a fifth ring and maybe even a sixth by the time Ben retires in 10 years or so.  I don't want to get ahead of myself (all I care about now is them winning Sunday), but that's what I believe.  I think this team will accomplish as much if not more than the '70s team. 

     And the Jets just won't be able to hang with that Sunday.  They won't be able to run, they won't be able to pass... if they get another KO return and a couple turnovers, they could make it interesting, but if they don't, I don't think they'll be able to compete.

   

     I do think that stats can tell you a lot.  And by looking at the drive chart, you can see that the Steelers in the last meeting put together several long drives in that game, where as the Jets did not.  They scored one offensive touchdown.  The Steelers scored 2, and if it weren't for a dropped pass, would have scored three and won the game.  Their four longest drives were 53, 74, 82, and 96 yards.  The Jets four longest drives were 66, 56, 44, and 44.  The last two (44 and 44) resulted in punts.  They simply got outplayed, and they will again.  And they won't escape with a win.
     Put your money on the Steelers moneyline.
     And have fun counting your money later.

Love the Jets,, loved them last week and I think they are on a mission from God.. great team chemistry, they defeated 2 of the best teams in the league, one more left on the schedule...
