The Indianapolis Colts (0-7) take on the Tennessee Titans (3-3) in Tennessee. The Colts, arguably the worst team in the NFL, rank 30th in overall offense and 30th in defense. Please note: there are 32 teams in the NFL. Combining both statistics, it means that the Colts are the worst ranked team in the entire league!!
Not only that, but the Colts have been outscored 147 - 48 in just four road games. THAT'S AN AVERAGE LOSS OF 24.75 POINTS, or 25 points a game. Including all points, their average loss on the road is 37-12.
I believe the Titans are a solid play this week for may reasons:
1. Chris Johnson is due to "break out." I believe CJ will FINALLY have his much-needed 200-yard rushing game against the league's 3rd worst defense. He averages over 100 yards a game vs the Colts the last few years, and this is their worst defense yet. Silence the critics, Chris!
2. Matt Hasselbeck: MH has not had a bad week yet. With a young receiving core, and a weak safety/CB group for Indianapolis which is also aged, I genuinely expect MH to throw for 330. The Colts' last three opponents have completed 80.2 percent of their passes.
3. Curtis Painter: not an established QB. He has had a couple games with padded stats thanks to a Garcon pattern here and there. For example, with Garcon defended, Painter went 9-17 with an interception last week vs the Saints. Titans D is synonymous with the Saints' - thus I believe it will be at least a fairly consistent result.
