Kobe knows they need to win the Pacific, but if the Clippers keep droppin games I could see the Lakeshow takin their foot off the pedal..

I'm with you train.  Always watch what the covers consensus if it is really high like it is now 77% go the other way.  Now it isn't a hundred percent but I'll take my chances.  gl to all

without either steve blake(13 games due to bruised ribs) or andrew bynum (first four games due to suspension) in the lineup the lakers were 8-9 straight up.  with both blake and bynum in the rotation, which dramatically affects a team that lacks depth with the loss of lamar odom, turning out to not be such a bad move after all, THE LAKERS ARE 16-5 straight up.  with either both blake and bynum in the lineup, the lakers are 5-5 on the road; losing to two teams with losing records, utah (14-6 at home) and milwaukee (11-9) at home.  The lakers beat miami for kobe.  Now they'll beat detroit for John Kuester who got abused by these same bunch of bums in Detroit.

Lakers started the season 1-8 or something on the road. Since then they're 5-4 or something like that.  Their total road record of 6-12 is deceptive.  Plus, they played the better teams on the road so far - Miami, Orlando, etc.

I see the majority of you guys think the Lakers at least win. I just dont think its that easy. They arent good enough to just show up and win.

Can they win and cover. Absolutely. Hell, they should. But when 75%+ of bettors think one way its usually best to go stand in the other line. Usually.

Lakers should not be favored by 8 or 9 pts on the road vs anyone. There's really not anything at all fishy about this line. The Pistons are more than capable of getting blown out or winning this game.

I'm just not buying the letdown angle for the Lakers because they beat the depleted Heat at home. They expected to win that game. Any Pistons backer should be worried that this is the first game of the road trip for the Lakers...just feel there would be a better angle if the Lakers had already played 3 on the road and took a night off

Extreme Lakers fan here and I can say quite confidently that this is in fact the case. Lakers will squeek out a 1 pt win or will lose this game. They are emotionally drained and have a really bad habit of playing extremely tight games against poor teams. Gotta agree with you train, however I can never bet against them.

I got the Lakers, as stated in my thread Lakers are going on a run the 2nd half and won't lose to crap teams like DET. Kobe is on a roll right now and who is going to score for DET?

Monroe won't get much on Bynum. LA allows the 2nd fewest points and DET can barely score as it is. Factor in LA's rebounding advantage and it should be a long night for DET.

I know the Lakeshow has been struggling on the road, but you are talking about a team like Detroit who is 12-26 and has many problems. The Lakers are turning it on 2nd half mark my words. Go ahead and bet your hard earned money on a bunch of scrubs Ill take the best player in the world along with 2 seven footers anyday. Lets not forget Detroits best player(s) Stuckey or Prince will be guarded by MWP and D-fish a very solid defender. 

Ill take Lakers -6 against 5th worst team ALL DAY. BOL

I think you're right that the pistons are the better bet here. However, as a pistons fan I have realized this year that they are just impossible to predict on a day to day basis. If they're going to get up for a game you would think the lakers would be a good team to do so for. The thing that scares me the most is that the lakers only give up 13.1 ppg to centers and if Monroe doesn't get going Stuckey, Knight or Gordon will have to step up big (probably 2 of the 3) for the pistons to have a shot at winning. One nice trend favoring the pistons is that they are 6-3 ATS at home vs above .500 teams while the lakers are 0-4 ATS against below .500 teams on the road. I'm going to the game tonight so being a degenerate I'll have a little money on the home team or else i probably wouldn't bet it. Best of luck tonight
