January 24th at Golden State - I unloaded on the Warriors +5.5 and ML +200.  The Spurs won by 11.

January 26th at Utah - I stupidly took the bitch Jazz +4.5 -108.  The Spurs won by 7.

January 29th at home ve. Houston - I unloaded on the Rockets +8.5 and +370.  The Spurs won by 13.

February 1st at Portland - I didn't bet anything on this day.  The Spurs lost by 13.

February 3rd at the Lakers - I was going to bet the Lakers -3, but didn't.  But then at halftime, with the game tied, I took the Lakers -2.  The Spurs won by 1.

February 4th at Sacramento - I placed a small bet on the Kings in the first half before realizing I was going to lose again, so I didn't take it any further.  The Spurs killed them.

February 8th at Detroit - I fell for the Pistons +7.5.  Close game for most of the way, but the Spurs outclassed them in the end by 11.

February 9th at Toronto - Even as I was placing my foolish bets on the Raptors +8 and +305, I knew I was going to lose.  And I did.  The Spurs entered the 4th quarter down by 3 and won by 11.

February 11th at Philadelphia - I liked the Sixers +3.5 in this game but I was at my threshold of pain when it came to the Spurs.  Even knowing the Sixers were a quality home dog, I nevertheless stayed away.  It felt weird, like deep down I just didn't want to win.  The Spurs lost by 6.

February 12th at Washington - Even I wasn't silly enough to take the Wizards in this matchup.  The Spurs won by a lot.

So why did I side tonight with another miserable team against the methodical, merciless Spurs?  I'm not sure, but maybe I'm trying to lose on purpose.  It's the only explanation that makes sense to me.  Bookmaker is doing me no favors either by inviting me to take super juicy moneyline prices against San Antonio.  All day long I was tempted into grabbing their +355 and then they got me when they upped the ante to +365 a few minutes before I started typing this.

My bets aren't small tonight, so if you're smart, you know what to do here!

You weren't a Spurs backer.  Your credibility on this site is less than zero.  If you were smart you would have known to go the other way with San Antonio, but you aren't smart and you aren't brave, either.

Yeah, that makes a lotta sense.  I put up the thread 30 minutes before the game started.  If I wanted to deliberately try and bury people, I would have

    A) put up the thread 12 hours before the game, and

    B) encouraged people to bet on the Nets instead of encouraging them to FADE and bet on the Spurs

I sure hope you didn't bet on these Nets nags because of me.  I think I laid it out clearly in my first post that the Spurs come up big every time I bet against them.  The move was to lay the points, not "tail" my latest anti-Spurs disaster.  Even I knew before the game that I was probably going to lose the bet.  Was my pessimism not shining through brightly enough??

    Bator,...you are a Pavlovian dog......

how many more times do you plan on fading the Spurs ?

fool me once ......shame on you ....
    fool me twice....shame on me...

    fool me 3 times

    "        "  5 times
    "        "  6 times
    "        "  7 times
    "        "  8 times
    "        "  9 times
    "        " 10 times .....shame on ?

or , in the immortal words of George Dubya

George W. Bush: There's an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says: "Fool me once... "
    George W. Bush: [pause]
    George W. Bush: "... shame on... ".
    George W. Bush: [pause]
George W. Bush: "Shame on you... "

Losing hurts a lot less when you expect it to happen right from the opening tip, and boy that's exactly how I feel every time I bet against the Spurs.  You know, as bettors we have to trust that the oddsmakers aren't idiots, but sometimes that trust is shaken when the team with the best record in the league just continues to EASILY cover whatever insufficient spreads are put on their games.  Even worse than the -8 line was the halftime line of San Antonio minus half a point.  Anyone who took the Nets at the half made a poor play, and anyone who read this thread.......and still took the Nets at halftime probably needs to stop betting on sports for good.

AGREED.....that shit gets me all the time, after a few games I just give up deciding that even the oddsmakers can't figure these really really good teams out.

The Lakers were going to suck tonight whether he played or not.  They're just a 54-28 type team, not a 63-19 type team as many perceive them.  Nice win for you on the Bobcats, JavierVasquez.  I wish I'd been smart enough to fade them again.

The nets were just about as solid as the shit I'm gonna take later after eating a Mexican Valentine dinner. I had Spur, Spurs TT and that loose crap of a team cost me the over by about 3 as I see it. Well, better luck to Atl and Mil.
