Wally Szczerbiak will be traded for who???

Wally Szczerbiak has been told by the organisation he will be traded and he understands the big picture
 
his 13 million dollar expiring contract is very attractive for several teams
 
if the cavs bring in another star alongside king james the cavs will be unstoppable with 2 other good players m. williams and z.ilgauskas
 
 
  the cavs had been interseted in several players who are now ruled out: c.boozer. e.brand . m.redd
 
 
TARGETS include: vince carter, jason richardson, richard jefferson
(long deals with teams looking to shed salary)
 
or players with more trade value - eg would need to throw in 1st round pick or 2
 
  who do you guys think the cavs will land for wally?
a big man or a SG - nominate a player please

cavs don't need star players like carter, rj, richardson, etc. they just need role players like james posey.

amare to the cavs would be sick :)

dont know if they would do that though since his defense isn't the best ever.

Marcus Camby could fit in right away. They could use another big in the playoffs to defend against Garnett, Howard, Sheed etc. And he plays D and doesn't need to be the 1st or 2nd option on offense, unlike Amar'e.

Cavs stand pat.  Wally won't be traded.
 
They're not taking back Vince Carter's contract.  Anyways, why risk messing with the outstanding chemistry of this team when they're already a clear championship contender just to bring in somebody like Brad Miller?  Just doesn't make any sense.

i like it but that would mean the pistons would be waving the white flag which i dont see as the bottom half of the east playoff teams are weak

it would also cost the cavs some good draft picks

just read an article that r.jefferson is a strong chance to go to the cavs - jefferson and james playing the 2 and 3 togethor would be a matchup nightmare

Cavs will never win a championship with Ilgauskus...

The season they get rid of him and start playing a legit bigman they become unstoppable...

Another guard or small forward is not the answer...

Sheed would be okay, Boozer would have been great (could you imagine screen and roll with those two?)...

When Boozer was in Cleveland before, he wanted to be " The Show". It didn't work. I have not heard anything about Wally bring traded. The Cavs organization is happy with the team right now. They do not want someone to come in and un-gel  the teamwork. Who would want to pick up Wallys $13 Mil anyway?

Because it's an expiring contract and those are so valuable especially in this economic climate with many owners looking to shed payroll.  The only thing is Cleveland probably doesn't want to take back a big contract because they're trying to keep as much money available for Lebron in 2010.  Trading Wally is much more complicated than it appears.

That's what I meant Value. Wally isn't worth $13 mil. And you are also correct that Cle is saving for Lebron. The trade is going to be a bitch if it happens. Sorry if there was any confusion.

I agree Daddy.  I just can't see the Cavs trading for someone like Vince Carter.  He's got 2 years remaining at 22 million per after this year on his contract.  And bringing in a player like that who is used to being the man would only complicate matters.  He doesn't know how to play 2nd fiddle.  Right now Lebron has a great 2nd option in Mo Williams and everybody else plays their role perfectly.  If Vince arrived it would take a while to figure out the dynamic between him, Lebron and Mo.  Why would Cleveland do that at this point of the season? Not worth risking it.

My good friend is the marketing mgr. for the Cavs. He said the org. is sooo happy how everything is going, they do not want change till after the season. It would be interesting to see who they would look at in the off season.
