That unbridled arrogance was the spark that started one of the greatest comebacks in NBA finals history.

Is anyone actually surprised? These clowns have been celebrating prematurely since July, when they had their championship celebration.
DIRK! DIRK! DIRK!

That's no celebration, many, many players have done such things and worse.
People are way, way overreacting to this "because it's the Heat" !!
Your justification for why it wasn’t a celebration is because “many players have done such things”?
So if you murder someone it’s not really murder because “many other people have done such things”?

I gotta agree with this post. I think people are making a big deal out of it because it was the last thing the Heat did that quarter. So it was natural to look back at that play as the spark to the Mavs run. Made sense. Overall thought I don't think the celebration was out of line. People are just making a big deal out of it because everyone hates the Heat.
It happened with a little over 7 minutes left in the 4th. ![]()
Also multiple Mavs players said that taunting about 6 inches in front of their bench motivated them to comeback. ![]()

That is how people treat the Heat team now. Personally, I don't like them either and it has nothing to do with the Decision or heart or ignobleness or any off court issues. I agree that people are taking this too far. The celebration was not that elaborate. The only feeling that celebration elicited from me was humor after they ended up losing the game. Any other feelings of the celebration being classless are contrived if you ask me.

Yes, it's natural in sports to get motivated by actions from another team. That motivation + the Heat's inability to close out the game was the deciding factor of the game. However, I don't think the celebration was out of line. TheIntrospect made a fine point about how there were no direct taunting towards Mavs players and how Wade just happened to be in the vicinity of the Mavs bench.
Perhaps, the elongated follow throw with the hand up and the slow walk towards the bench might've gave some Mavs players something to think about. Still, I don't think it's that big of an issue.
You’re missing at least half of (some even called “most of”) the celebration: Lebron James.
Wade’s actions indicated he knew that was out of line as he tried to basically ignore him.

Even considering Lebron James, nothing they did there was out of line. You see players get posterized that have to deal with taunting a lot worse than that. You see players make 3s in front of the opponents bench, turn around and taunt them directly.
If the Heat won this game, this whole "celebration" would've been a non-issue. There's nothing excessive about it at all. It just sparked the Mavs, as it should. It was just the turn around of the game...the last big shot the Heat made all game.
All in all, their antics and premature celebration caused them the game. But there was nothing wrong with it as long as they knew how to close out the game. That's all.
I disagree with you. The Mavs disagree with you. The media disagrees with you. Pretty much everyone here besides Heat homers disagree with you. Hell, even Wade’s body language indicates he disagrees with you.

Showboating about 6 inches from the other team’s bench in the finals?
Off the top of my head I can’t recall another time that’s happened, much less “ALL THE TIME.”

Beating a dead horse buddy. Beating a dead horse.
You say it happens all the time.
I say I can’t remember a single time off the top of my head where something like that happened before in the finals (i.e. feel free to point out a time if you can).
And your response is “Beating a dead horse buddy. Beating a dead horse.”
I’ll take that to mean you can’t either.
