There are no bounds to the public love affair with the Knicks.

I'll forgive the $10,000 debt....just this once.

At 1.5 and even 1 in some places yes.

It is a 50 win pacer team and lance Stephenson ALONE is better than every Knick after Melo.

And he comes to play in NY.

This is a very big game so the Knicks will take some leads and the crowd will be amped. That will be in their favor.

But time and time and time again, unless they blow the doors off teams like they've done in these previous 6, against really what is "Tank City", they can't hold big leads.

They better blow the doors off the pacers like BB said or else the Pacers will come back. 

I'd much rather have them lost the Bucks game and end that winning streak to back the Knicks tonight. it's too much too soon.

This is still Raymond Felton. This is still JR Smith. This is still Pablo Prigioni. This is still a very poor bench. This is still a team that can't play D and can't guard the 3. 

The wins over the lowest of the low mask all that. 

Look at their last 21 of each. Pacers are 14-7 SU. Knicks are 8-13 SU.

But because the Knicks won 6 in a row against: wolves, Cavs, jazz, celtics, Sixers, bucks, the Knicks have the pacers "right where they want them."

I said it before. The Knicks haven't beaten a team over .500 in over two months.

The Pacers, of their 17 losses, have only lost to 4 sub .500 teams

ALL YEAR.

ATS is out the window with a line of 1.5. This is the real world and the spread world dissipates when there is no real spread. 

So they didn't cover either game against the Sixers in a home and home...?

The Knicks didn't cover against the Sixers either and were tied at the half with them too!

We tend to get amnesia when we prefer a certain side. 

I love it, Scal. A good capper knows when to fade his team and this is the right spot, as far as what you see. Great line, against a much better team that will be motivated to beat the Knicks. The only problem I see here (after watching 3 or 4 Pacers games in the last month) is that there is something wrong with this team, chemistry wise. They have no leader, or one leader; not even their coach. They lead by committee and the committee has been in a lull or a funk. Meanwhile, the knicks will go as far as Melo takes them, which means their margin of error is smaller, relying as they do, on a temperamental superstar who is as difficult to predict as the weather. But for one night, give me the superstar with his supporting cast of role players, as they audition for the great Maestro himself, Phil Jackson, on the biggest basketball stage on earth.

For one night with the NYK's, you may be absolutely right and if you are, virtually everything you stated above will get the Knicks to the finish line. The audition will be in full force tonight. That is definitely in your favor in terms of motivation.

That is why I'm not going crazy with this play. I'm challenging myself with it. It sets up beautifully for the Knicks and there is absolutely something amiss with the Pacers.

But I would much rather this incoming team be Memphis or the Suns or the Clippers or the Blazers where the Knicks would be likely be getting a small amount of points but there would be no rivalry, no history. This matchup goes all the way back to the Reggie Miller choke game. The Pacers really strive to win in NY and don't overlook it, especially Lance who goes berserk on them. And against the Sixers, it looks like they just breezed through the game 1 and 2 in the home and home, and even in Detroit and still walked away with 3 victories in their back pocket (nothing to brag about) and will be playing full speed in this game. 

We'll see. I could be completely wrong and if I was shown 4.5 I may have been lured a different way. But not with a ML.

And don't forget, the pacers were down 25 in that pistons game and won and of all teams, the Knicks are the worst with keeping leads.

Also the Knicks are the only team to not come back from a >=15 deficit all year. The only one....

And we look at that 25 point comeback and say "Man what's wrong with the pacers to go down 25 to the lowly pistons?!" But the Knicks who can't overcome almost half that ALL SEASON, are "hot" because they ran over the dregs of the league.

It's all about perspective and the relevance of that perspective when capping.

Adelman and Love were pretty steamed about it as the wolves fell by 2 after 19 point comeback.

We will see. 4.5 is no Joke in a game like this. 

It could end up like the Wiz Kings game where otherworldly forces propelled the Kings to victory no matter what the Wiz did.
