Defense became less physical which led to the evolution of the wing player. Less hand checking led to quicker tempo. How much current players are known for their post up game, including non-centers? Why do you think the post in a less important spot on the offense floor than in the 80's and 90's. The centers impact has become less on both ends of the floor. What about the zone? It allows team to crowd the lane much differently prior to the rule change.
