No Way Lakers Repeat

Who will beat the Lakers from the West in a best of 7 series?

Why do people try and draw a line with what occurs in regular season to predicting what will happen in the post season?

rod, you know better than this... these Lakers are a dead stick! 

think about it... we all knew last year they were on a mission after geting whipped by the Celtics... this year, that hunger is gone, and what are you left with?  you are left with a team who's most level-headed player is Kobe Bryant... Kobe rates about a B on level-headedness, and Pau rates maybe a C... the rest of that team is a shitload of head-cases... almost all of them are an F on the level-headed scale...

this team is a very possible first round exit (i don't care who they play, they can lose to ANYONE)... and almost a sure thing to be gone before the conference finals...

Again you are trying to draw a comparison with their lazy regular season play to what they are going to do in the playoffs.

Again I will ask, who in the West will beat the Lakers over a best of 7 series and explain why. I'm not saying that Lakers are invincible but I love seeing people make blanket statements saying Lakers are not going to make it through the post season without anyone actually saying who is going to beat them over a best of 7 series.

i.e.

1) Derek Fisher getting his ass just totally schooled by the quality PGs in the West conference...----You're being way way way too kind with this.  He's a Fn' ghost....  He couldn't guard Bob Cousy at this point in his career.

2) Ron Artest being the single most ridiculous human being to ever play a sporting event.----- I have no problem what so ever with your assesment here.... Does anyone have a hard time envisioning him plopped down between Tom Siezmore and Dennis Rodman in next seasons Sober House with Dr. Drew. Me niether.... what a mental midget.

3) Lamar Odom being the most underachieving physical specimen to ever play a sporting event----   Yes, I too used to yell this from the rafters, but I actually feel he made some decent progress this season...  That said,  he still owns the lowest career FG% from inside of 2 feet.

4) Andrew Bynum being the most physically unimposing 7+ footer to ever play basketball-----  Doesn't he remind you of that 6 foot fourth grader we all knew who tried desperatly to fit in with the Junior High gang because of his size , but instead came off as a immature duffus.

first of all... there are only 3 teams that i think can potentially get their in the West... i'd say there is a 90% chance it will be the Nuggets or Mavs... BUT, if anyone else is going to sneak in there, it will be the Suns...

Lakers... no fucking way!  here is what i am not expressing very well, i guess...

these Lakers won last year because they were on a mission... they were supremely motivated... now, in sports, a supremely motivated team can overcome their own limitations and make a title run...

however, once that motivation is gone (which it is), the only way a team can win it again is if they have extremely disciplined, self-motivating, level-headed pieces in their puzzle...

does that sound like the Lakers?  FUCK NO!  this team has no shot... trust me... they are a collection of losers, and without that "team on a mission" attitude they had last year, you are going to see all of the bad things about this Lakers team in the playoffs:

i.e.
