Hey man 2-1 night last night, but I really would've been up big if Milwaukee had hit. With 5 minutes to go it looked like they had it in the bag but they just couldn't hit a shot down the stretch, and Portland couldn't miss.
Today I'm playing Utah -6, Houston -7, and Knicks +3. I think you can be pretty confident with Utah here. Home court advantage means a lot to teams in the west, especially Utah, and they're going to be feeling confident coming off last night's tough win in Phoenix (yea, that was a tough win to beat a desperate Phoenix team on the road). Denver is average on the road... their last win was against Seattle, which isn't necessarily an easy win considering the way Seattle can play up to its opponents on occasion, but still, its Seattle. And remember, Utah is the best home team in the league. I'm going to try to get it at Utah -5 for a little insurance. I'm taking the Knicks just because I know they can play teams tight, especially at home, and Portland won't cover back to back nights with lights-out shooting by Aldridge. Taking Houston simply because the Hornets are still reeling a bit, and Houston is Houston. Scola, Alston, and Battier impress me more and more every time I watch them. Plus, Vegas is on our side, as consensus shows. If this is their "inflated" line that they put out to get a loss on Houston ATS, then I'll be playing everyone of these "inflated" lines. They're scared of Houston, but not scared enough. Houston -7 is the play.
So I'm riding with the home teams on this one. Careful with that Orlando lean... Both teams are inconsistent and I wouldn't want to be laying that many points there. I'm just laying off it.

Sorry about that Bucks loss yesterday. It was a close game. I appreciate your thoughts on tonights games. I think NY and Houston are good plays. I have been on houston for a good part of their run. If it comes to an end tonight I wouldnt be too upset but I still think they will come out willing to push their winning streak to 17 or so....not sure of the number off the top of my head.

Oddsmakers definitely accounted for this and boosted the spread, giving 6 points to a hot team with a lot to play for. I think they want you to take the points. Denver looks better on paper compared to Utah and all signs point to a hard-fought close game that Denver will cover... except that, again, Denver is not great on the road, and Utah is nasty. Betting on Denver is comfortable, which is exactly why I am leaning Utah. How can you fade the hottest home team in the NBA at home against a team 1-3 in its last 4 away games? 6 points is a lot, but I think Vegas wants me to feel safe with Denver. Not gonna fall for it.
The "avenge" factor, in my opinion, is moot. When Melo gets the ball in his hands from beyond the arc tonight, is he going to think "man, they beat us at home a month ago, I better try harder to make this shot!"? Denver and Utah will play as hard as they can every night, and even if they decide that they "really want to win" before the game to avenge a previous loss, that doesn't increase their shooting percentage, or prevent Utah from sinking shots. The avenge factor may matter in games like Football, where willpower translates into physical power which translates into more yards and points and wins, but in basketball, it is a game of skill, not power. It's psychological, and besides dunking the ball harder when they have opportunities and then screaming really loudly after the play, wanting revenge will not help them make their shots any better or worse. Revenge only makes sense in hindsight, when the team won and you can say "yea, they just really wanted revenge on them". How many times has a team lost twice in a row despite trying their best? Sometimes teams are just better than the other team and emotion doesn't play a huge roll.
