i think lebron james, as seen last year, they upset pistons. the cavs been improving every year & with his new team mates are doing quite well. let's see where it takes them in the playoffs.
chris paul has to prove 1st this year & he will have a bright future. maybe next to steve nash...

If Chris Paul can lead his team over 1st round playoff, he will get my vote.
Since Celtics got a good team and Eastern C is not too tough, I expect them to go to the Finals then I will vote for KG.
If Kobe can take his team to Western C Finals, then he can get vote.
If Cavs can beat the Pistons again this year again, then the vote will go to Queen James.
If Houston can win 25-0, then I have to give all my vote to McGrady
How a team or player plays in the playoffs has no impact on the regular season MVP award.
And the East is weak if you are talking about depth, but the NBA Champion will come out of the East. The Pistons are the best team in the NBA, followed by the Celtics and Spurs. The Cavs could make a run purely on the back of James as well. I hate that the Raps will end up playing the Cavs in the first round, because James is the King for a reason and dominates the playoffs.
I'm a pretty young guy, but still James is the best basketball player I've ever seen play the game, minus Jordon. This guy will win at least 5 MVP's before he retires, and probably have a couple championships as well. I just can't get over how good this guy is, and he's what, 22? He's also not a complete baby like Kobe.

The champion comes out of the East for sure?
Either the Celtics win it or they don't. I don't care how the Pistons have done this year. They've proven they don't belong by losing to a mediocre Cavs team last year.
As for Cleveland, LeBron hasn't proven anything to me yet. I'm originally from Cleveland, by the way, and live and die for all those teams. But he hasn't been showing me that he can take them to the next level. He has so much talent now since the trade but he doesn't do anything with it. Everyone always "ooos" and "ahhs" at his numbers -- they're always great but to what end? They lose too many games against teams they should be destroying. Case in point, Chicago last Thursday and New Jersey at home last night.
This is unacceptable if you expect to win the MVP and be considered among the ranks of Jordan. If you took Jordan in his hey-day and gave him Cleveland's roster in the current league, they would be slitting everyone's throats. I haven't seen him equate his stats with victories yet.

See, look what happened tonight. That's exactly what I'm talking about with Lebron. He gets his numbers and puts on an individual show, but he can't consistently lead the Cavs past the mediocre teams. And the Cavs on the road are a joke.

Read up about Jordan from 1984-1990 before you start to type.

Look, I know my NBA history. LeBron has had enough time for his learning curve. He now has solid players from A to Z on the roster. Also, besides Boston, Detroit and Orlando, the East blows.
I already wrote in an earlier post above how if you would have taken Jordan in his early years and thrown him on this Cavs team in this conference, he would be having a field day and Cleveland would be winning more often.
Of course, Cleveland could make me eat all these words in the playoffs but they are playing extremely uninspiring basketball and Lebron is at the epicenter of it.

If Kobe doest win this award it would be a crime. He Is in 1st place in the Western Conference!! He plays hurt, now has a consistent 2nd scorer, and who else is the NBA would give the ball to if you need a game winner??
LeBron is great. But a very average record in the East with a decent cast. Although he has improved a lot this last season closing out games, he is still what we call a nail biter at the end of the game.
Chris Paul is flat out unbelievable. Numbers are amazing but the record is fading a little. He may be hurt with the thought of playing in NO and not in a bigger media market. I love this guy but this will not be his year in my opinion.
KG. Not enough minutes/numbers. They are blowing out teams which are not helping him. Also playing with Pierce and Allen will take some of the light away which isnt a bad thing at all cause they win, but to win the MVP its not likely.
Bottom Line KOBE KOBE KOBE
