The Lakers are on a back-to-back-to-back, 3rd game in 3 nights.Much has been made of how this is going to be very tiring for the Lakers.A lot of people are expecting a stinker from them but I’m not, especially considering that this is earlier in the year so the Lakers players will still have enough legs to get it done tonight. This 3 games in 3 nights situation is actually taking away people’s attention from the Lakers 0-2 record and is taking the pressure off of the Lakers to win today’s game.Instead people are expecting the Jazz to win the game. The Jazz know that this is the first back-to-back-to-back for any NBA team and whether they admit it or not, they will feel more pressure to beat a good team on the road in the Lakers and may also have a bit of a letdown in energy waiting for the Lakers to be tired. This might sound dumb, but young, inexperienced teams like the Jazz can have problems like this.
The Jazz are playing their first game of the season. So while they’ll be fresh, they will also be rusty considering that they had a shortened training camp and not too many games with this core group of players. The Jazz are going up against a desperate Lakers squad that will be competing hard on national TV to avoid an 0-3 start. The Lakers will be going all out tonight. The Jazz don’t have many weapons to run on the Lakers and score at will. The Lakers will continue to sell out on the defensive end to slow down the Jazz.On the other side of the ball the Lakers can score inside and Kobe will have a good game with every doubting the Lakers here.Gimme the tough-minded veteran squad with enough hunger and talent to get their first win to override their tired legs.
Tiimberwolves – Bucks Over 192.5 (-105) to win 15 units
The Bucks played some horrific defense yesterday. They gave up a ridiculous 96 points to a Bobcats squad without many offensive weapons.Today they’ll go up against Kevin Love, Derrick Williams, Rubio, Beasely and some other athletic and crafy offensive youngsters. The Bucks play better D at home but on a b2b I don’t expect too much improvement on D.The Bucks got outrebounded by 13 against a small frontline in the Bobcats, so against one of the best rebounders in Kevin Love I don’t like the Bucks chances.Love won’t have to deal with Dwight Gooden who is suspended and Beasely won’t have great defeneder Mbah a Moute on him so the Wolves should get points and offensive rebounds leading to more points.
The Twolves Coach Rick Adelman will be missing this game due to personal reasons. With Adelman not there to stress defense and the Twolves on a b2b coming off of a tough loss where they had a close loss to the Thunder I can’t see them having a ton of energy to commit on D.The Bucks scored the ball well yesterday on a tough Bobcats D so I don’t think they’ll have any problems tonight.Over!

Yesterday I had the Sixers +5 against Portland and I was really lucky to get a backdoor cover. The Blazers really dictated the game and were up by 10 throughout most of it.Today they’ll be facing a young Kings squad that put a ton of effort into beating the Lakers in there home opener yesterday where they went nuts at the end of the game. This Kings team is not good on the defensive end and go up against a really talented Portland squad today. As a result, I don’t know if they have the focus and discipline to play a great road game here.Camby will shut down Cousins, and Aldridge will absolutely destroy Hayes. In terms of the guards, Matthews and Felton played great D on the Sixers yesterday and I think that continues here in front of another crazy Rose Garden crowd.RIP CITY BABY!

I think we are in the few on the Lakers side lol Agree with everything you are saying. Lakers play tough at home. They should have beaten the bulls if it weren't for a 4th quarter collapse. Then should have beat a young athletic Sac team in their home opener if it weren't for Sac shooting 50% from 3 point land and the Lakers 1-16. 24 point differential and they still got within 2. Just couldn't close. A lot of people are betting on an unproven Utah team that has gone through a lot of changes the last year. I'll go with the experience here. We will see what kind of team Utah has. Everybody seems to think they are better than the Lakers at the Staple Center!!

The nickname Rip City is usually used in the context of the city's NBA team, the Portland Trail Blazers.[14] The term was coined by the team's play-by-play announcer Bill Schonelyduring a game against the Los Angeles Lakers on February 18, 1971, the Blazers' first season.[15] In the days prior to the three-point field goal, Blazers' guardJim Barnett took an ill-advised long distance shot that nonetheless went in, giving the new team hope for a victory against the powerful Lakers. Excited, Schonely exclaimed "Rip City! All right!" Schonely admits that he has no idea how he came up with the expression, but it became synonymous with the team and the city of Portland.[16]

really like the lakers play as the jazz don't have any great perimeter shooters to streak the floor and will need to rely on interior buckets. this should help immensely with the lakers defense as their guards were destroyed yesterday by the kings guards.
