WOW no leans for sides folks
, this is a rare occurrence for me. However there are two totals I am interested in playing tomorrow. Will look into it and will be play both, one, or none depending on how I feel tomorrow, how the line moves, and how the injury reports come out. Keep in mind that I am not the best totals guy so don’t go beserk on these two plays, as I don’t like either of the sides for tomorrow.
Lean 1:
Celtics – Bulls Over 179
First of all shame on Yahoo Sports and ESPN for giving a preview of this game that was completely one-sided all coming from the Bull’s point of view. Disgusting had to go to a Boston paper to see what the Celts were saying coming into this game.
Celtics are not playing the greatest D of late by giving up 90 to Detroit, 88 to ATL on a b2b no less, and only 97 to the high-octane Spurs on the road where tightened up the D in the 2nd half on the road. The Celtics did however shut down the Sixers giving up only 82. However Chicago poses many more offensive threats than the Sixers and will give this Boston lineup with a thinner front line than their previous 3 meetings all they can handle. I think the Bulls will be able to crash the boards as Kristic, Murphy, and O’Neal are not close to being healthy enough to dominate down low against Noah, Asik, Thomas, and Booz. The Bulls are not playing Bulls D either giving up 94 to the Suns, 106 to the Raptors, 96 to the Pistons, 91 to the Tpups, and 97 to the Sixers. Except for the Sixers none of those teams are good teams so their D is a concern. Part of the reason the Bulls are giving up a ton of points is because they are getting outrebounded the past couple of games. If the Suns can outrebound the Bulls O’Neal, Garnett, and Davis and the Celtics will be a very tough task to box out for a banged up Noah and Boozer. The Celtics are currently a half game up on Miami for 2nd and I think they will really want to win this game to get that all important home-court advantage against the overrated 3 in the 2nd Round. The Bulls are 3 games up and Boston so they can always rise up against the stiff competition and put Boston to bed in the race for 1st for first. Both teams will play hard but I just don’t think that the way these two teams have been playing defense that they can keep it under the low total of 179. Should be a great game.
Lean 2:
Blazers – Jazz Under
Blazers are off of an embarrassing loss to the Warriors. They now take on a pesky Utah team that just beat the Lakers in LA and gave that same Lakers a team a real run for their money last Friday in Utah. The Jazz will come out hard to play on TNT national TV to give the Blazers who are not a great road team a tough game. Since the Deron Williams trade the Jazz have been slowing their tempo down with Harris and having a time to score with all of their injuries. The Jazz have gone under the total in 7 of their last 8 games. The Blazers have also increased their defensive intensity of late having undergone many low scoring games on the road. The Blazers love to really slow the ball down on the road. With the Jazz’s guards in Bell and Kirilenko being banged up or injured they move the ball into the post with Jefferson and Millsap. The Blazers will play that same tempo as well. The Blazers will be playing with high-intensity as they will want to secure that 6th spot while the Jazz will bring the defensive intensity as this as national TV game at home and the Jazz have been tightening the screws on D against the Lakers in their two meetings this past week.
I will post these plays as being official when I’m ready to. There is a small chance I might not make any plays tomorrow but we’ll see. Stay tuned!
