I brought up Kobe because the same things Nbafan was criticizing LeBron for, Kobe does, much more frequently. 



As for reasoning; Kobe has been taking (with awful shot selection) jumpers his whole career. This isn't a product of him getting "old". He is notorious for playing "kobe ball" and taking extremely difficult jumpshots on a nightly basis and bricking plenty of them. If you'd like I can go back season by season and outline these games for you. It can more easily be explained by his fg% year in year out. 



And NBA fan; anyone that compares LeBron's career right now to Kobe's is delusional. LeBron's career isn't as decorated but if you are talking about individual greatness; LeBron is playing at a level this year and last year that Kobe has never touched. In fact, specifically this year, he's playing at a level that few in NBA history have ever reached. We are talking about one of the greatest primes ever and it's rather pathetic that one game, or a media story that LeBron himself has never used as an excuse, could blind you into not seeing this.

You also failed to mention that LeBron shot higher from 3 point land this year than Kobe.

yeah but the FT% is on kobe's side.

lebron ppg this season 29,7
kobe ppg this season 27,0

for such a "huge" year for lebron, the difference between those 2 is minimal. and take into consideration that kobe plays like this season after season after season since my grandma was young.
not to mention that kobe's class on court is way higher than lebron's

lebron will sure win at least one ring, if he was capable to make cavs from a 18-64 or somenthing like that into ~64-18 this year almost by his own, he is able to win rings...all depends of his team-mates...future team-mates

Lol.  And I'd love to take you back throughout the years for the clutch, butter 3's that Kobe has taken late in the game (and made). Glad to know that Lebron is better "this" year.

And even if you want to say that throughout the years Kobe has taken bad shots, he was publicly villified for his "poor" selection.  Kobe has taken the criticism (even though he has far more reason to have taken the shots he did).  Why say that because Kobe did it Lebron is immune from the same criticism?  Your logic is off base.

LeBron had more points, same steals, more assists, more blocks, better field goal, more threes, better %. The only thing Kobe has on him is ft%. You are delusional if you think Kobe had a better year than LeBron this year. In fact, this year from LeBron, put together a 2 year span of efficiency that Jordan couldn't even match. Not to mention only perimeter player since Jordan to average 30 points on 50%+ fg.

And again, this isn't about LeBron's career vs Kobe's. That's comparing a 14 year career to a 7 year career; hardly logical. This is about who is the better player NOW, and that is LeBron James.

Ok but it's been proven LeBron is more efficient with 5 minutes left. For the last shot I'd take Kobe, sure, since he's more likely to get a better shot off. Regardless, even if you want to consider Kobe more clutch, how does that make him a better player?

Ray Allen is more clutch than Shaq; you're telling me Ray Allen is a better player than Shaq? 

And to answer your second post; it depends. If LeBron has a magnificent game but his team doesn't show, it's clearly not his fault. If LeBron plays bad in addition to, or while his team plays well, then he takes the blame.


Just for the record, your man Kobe was up 3-1 against the Suns and lost, didn't make playoffs the previous year, and lost the following year to the suns again in 5 games. 

Are you trying to show us all you know absolutely nothing about this sport or do you just enjoy trolling?

Was Paul Pierce better than Kobe that year he won the finals MVP and outplayed Kobe in the finals?

Was Wade better than Kobe in 05-06 (when Kobe was dropping 40 for a month including the 81 point game) because he led his team to a championship while Kobe "choked" in the 1st round?

Let me guess, these things don't apply to Kobe because when arguing for Kobe you don't need a logical argument....you just "know" he's the best.

I never brought up Kobe in the first place.  My initial comment was that Lebron takes awful, ill-advised shots.  Then the peanut gallery chimes in and says well, "Kobe did the same shit.  So if Kobe did it, then obviously Lebron isn't doing any wrong."  It goes back to the constant obsession that sports fans have with comparing the best with the best.

Even arguing that Kobe did in fact take too many terrible shots for all those years (which I obviously disagree with), he was absolutely torn apart by pundits.  So why should Lebron not get criticized for the purportedly similar shortcomings? 

Take Kobe out of the equation.  Pretend we're in a vacuum.  Are you still saying that Lebron does not take a lot of bad shots from the outside?  Much more than someone with his size and benefits from the referees should take?

bottom line is about the will to win

the cold-bloodedness, the drive, the ice in the veins type of player is clearly Kobe over Lebron.

Kobe has proven himself by winning it all. 4 times. Until Lebron wins one he is in the same category as all the greats that never won a championship and sure he might go on to win 10 titles in his career but quite frankly until he does so, you need to stop sucking his dick.

And dude, you're actually telling me that most game-winning misses is a viable stat?  First of all, tell me the total # of attempts.  Second, I've been talking about outside shots the entire time.  If Lebron makes a lot more game-winners because he takes them from 15 feet away, more power to him.  Tell me the % of game-winning 20-feet-or-longer misses that Lebron has v. Kobe, and I'll give your argument some credence.

Lebron is a point guard. Kobe is a shooting guard. Worth Noting.

Lebron's stats don't stack up as best ever, if you ask me. He isn't a good rebounder. His 7 or 8 boards a game are ALL defensive. He doesn't crash the boards and never gets offensive rebounds. His rebound numbers are a product of people heeding to him. And if you play 40 minutes a game with the ball in your hand, i would expect you to average 8 assists a game. With 3 3 point shooters on the court, I would expect you to average 8 assists per game.

I've been saying for 7 years now that lebron isn't a basketball player, hes just a freight train that learned how to shoot.

But if you wanna play stats game.....
Kobe 7th Year: 30, 6 ast, 7 reb, 45%, 38%, 84%
Lebron 7th Year: 30, 8.6 ast, 7 reb, 50%, 33%, 77%

Trying to play devils advocate a bit. Lets not get carried away callin this kid the save all end all of basketball history. Especially with that "Hey I haven't come close to winning a title" label slangin from his neck.
