MJ was voted best athlete of the past 100 years.....better than all NBA ballers...better than Babe Ruth....Muhammed Ali....Jack Nichalas...Jerry Rice.....Joe Montana.....Jim Brown....Wilt Chamberlain.....all the track greats...all the olympic greats...etc...etc...etc...everybody!!!!

That being said....LBJ is writing his own history...it will not eclipse MJ....but in my opinion this is where he is heading and it is in an area that no other nba player has been before

1.   He will score more points...grab more rebounds...dish more assists...block more shots...and steal more balls than any SMALL FORWARD in nba history.......will go down as best SF in NBA history

2.  He will have over half of the top 10 most efficient seasons in NBA history (efficiency rating)...he already has at least 4 of the top 10 most efficienct seasons in nba history

3.   He has already won more KIA NBA player of week and month awards than anyone in NBA history (in fairness to MJ...in his time this was player of month and it was for both conferences...in Kobe's era this move to be a conference award and was also given out weekly...STILL....LBJ has outperformed everyone from 1996 forward by winning this honor more than anyone else....and this ### is still growing)

4.   Historically speaking....in my opinion

LBJ will pass Kareem and be all time leading scorer....his shot does not look pure...but he scores on par with Durant..Kobe...and Melo and is consistently the #2, #3 or #4 scorer in the league and has been a steady scorer in the NBA since Age 18...(KD started at age 19)

LBJ will pass Magic and other greats in career assists...I think he will finish in the top 5 in NBA in career assists...which is impressive...he is a small forward

LBJ will also finish in the top five in career steals...which is impressive..again, he is a small forward

Everyone knows about the 'chase down blocks' a phrase that was created to descibe what he does on a regular basis which requires speed, athleticism, timing and skill

So Yes...MJ is the greatest of all time.....for Basketball and all sports.....but LBJ will leave a significant imprint on the game "statistically" when his career is all said and done.

MJ and KOBE are the best closers of our time. The end result......................................11 rings between them. My feelings are that LeBron hasd not been consistent when closing out an opponent. When the have a big comeback, everyone claims he's the best closer of all times. If you remember, a year or two ago the rqap on him was that he could not lead his team in crunch time. A perfect example was the third game vs Indiana. He had no emotion and showed no leadership on the court to circle the wagons. I agree he is an outstanding player and a freak of nature.......but better then Kobe or MJ...............NO WAY. He needs to prove he can win. In mu opinoin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he hasn't.

lebron has no post game, no hook shot, no left-handed shot, and is streaky from distance.  if he were 6'2" and 210# no one would have heard of him.

He will probably be one of the best players as far as stats go but being a leader and winning championships is ultimately how he will be judged. Dan Marino was a great team leader but never won a championship and his records stood for years. I feel this could be LeBron. The only way to disprove this is to WIN titles and LEAD men.

Will someone define clutch....it is so subjective and seems to be something the media and LBJ haters came up with to critique this man's flawless game

I know Jerry West was annoited or nicknamed "Mr Clutch"  but I have been watching ball since 1983 and I have never seen or heard this word mentioned THIS MUCH and it appears to have been given mucho chatter b/c of LBJ and his awesome all around game

Folks talk clutch more than marvel at this man's awesome and unquestionable superior all around game that noone in the league is even close to.

If the Heat and the Spurs faced off right now........................Spurs in 5 or 6. No way they beat SA, provided they get out of the East. Then stats are meaningless.

Takes a team to win titles...does anyone honestly think Dan Marino was the reasons those Dolphins teams didn't win titles?  NO

And LBJ all around game is second to none in the NBA....they have holes on their team (rebounding...LBJ should not be required to be the team's leading rebounder...assist guy and scorer....this was not required of any NBA champion....or any NBA finals MVP)

It is disingenous to say that the league's MVP must make-up for team flaws......heck D Wade and LBJ were flawless today...but still their lack of team support from a legit 3rd scorer still had this game in indy in contention late in the game

Stats measure the player more than this media and fan created "CLUTCH" category that is so subjective

But yes you are correct Team beats STAR all the time

Miami as a team is not better than the Spurs,,,,but LBJ is the best and most spectacular player in the league

By far the best player in the NBA today.  The Heat will win the title this year, you heard it here first.  LOL at people saying the Heat were done just because they lost a game vs the Pacers.

Of course he will have great stats when you don't play college ball and go straight to the NBA. The guy shrivels under big games when he is expected to win. He had to leave Cleveland to be with a closer in wade.

Nj didn't need a closer he was the man. He is the reason LBJ wears #23. You idiots that mention James in the same breathe as Jordan are dumb ignorant assholes.

today's game was pretty "big".. If Miami lost they would've been as good as finished for the playoffs.... ON THE ROAD too

Yes todays game was big but all you heard on ESPN for 2 days was how bad the heat looked and how bad wade is playing and this and that. Nobody would have been shocked if they lost today. Everyone expected miami to win game 3 and they didn't.
Just like when James beat Detroit in 2007 not many people thought Cleveland would win. When expectations are not high James does great but when they are really high he hadn't delivered.

But yeah, we will see, it takes time. Who knows, maybe in 7 years he will be standing with 5 rings, only time will tell.

Kobe, LeBron and Durant have the same stats. Durant's are actually better considering he's only 23 and he has a higher scoring avg than both. He makes game winning shots and leads his team. What will his mark be in 8 more yrs and what will his stats look like?? We can't measure a player just because he wins MVP awards. I'm going to mention 4 players and if you had to pick 3 that you would want handling the last posession, who would be odd man out? Jordan, Bird, Kobe and Lebron.

This is so not true. People expect them to get far, but if you really think that its easy to win the NBA Championships, then you are wrong. And that goes for EVERY team. There is no easy way to win the championship, so there is no must-wins in this game my friend... Before the season you could get +250 / +350 for them to win the Championships that means that bookies think they have like 25-29% chance of winning the NBA Championships, and they knew that band-waggoners would pound them so they set the line a little lower. So bookies believed that; Miami has about 20% of taking the championship this season. So if you think that Miami is a flop team if they dont manage to win the championship, then you are dumb.

So you think that basketball is about the last 1½ minutes of the game? Jesus.. Basketball is 48 minutes spread into 4 quarters, if you didnt know... And what i can tell you; LeBron plays perfect basketball the whole time he is on the court. He is an amazing ball handler, and he is not a ball hog guy like kobe. Go watch Kobe play, he doesnt give a fuck about rings, all he wants is STATS, his ego is driving him. LeBron always makes decisions that is the best for his team. If LeBron knows; ohh hey man, i know i cant score now, so i will pass on to my open teammate. If Kobe knows; ohh hey man, i know i cant score now, but whatever; i will take the shot anyways because then people will say im clutch... All he cares about is STATS, not for his team.

The situation about durant is slightly different, he is a good 3 point shooter, no doubt about that, so its obvious for him to take these shots, but what i will say; look at his technique at some of those late-game shots; They have been awful actually! He just got lucky on some of them. But he is still a good player, no doubt about that at all.

I understand what you're saying but last time I looked, nobody plays perfect BB. Not even MJ did.  Wed night he scored 22 and was 10 for 22. I'm not sure I would call that perfect BB. I think he's a great player and we are both entitled to our own opinoins, so I guess he would be your guy to take the last shot down 2 but not mine.

Prince James is soft. Doesn't have that killer instinct. No way this team beats the Spurs in the finals. If the Heat even make it that far!

Lebron James is/will be a better all round player than MJ

I agree, stats will be better all around but he may never win a title or even get to the finals. How does this play out for a career?
