Realistically, there is no way out of a series bet when your -330 favorite just dropped Games 1 & 2 at home.  But in this case, since the Lakers are roast beef and you evidently have access to an excellent -260 price, I'd say laying those 26 units is alright if you can afford it.

Bator, you have immense respect on this board.  But these posts just defy logic.  At a minimum, Lakers were up by 16 in the 3Q of G1.  They were up 5 with 1:00 left and even up 1 with :19 left. Lakers then played the worst games of their lives in G2. 

You got very lucky that your +5000 Mavs sweep remains in play.  Your explanation not to hedge makes no sense.  Even a 3 unit hedge on the Lakers gives you a guaranteed 2.6 unit win and only reduces your gain from a Dallas sweep from 50 to 47.  Unless you're expecting a Dallas blowout, this makes no sense.

Mavs may ultimately win, but the Lakers are far, far from done.

So?  They were up by 16 after 26 minutes of play.  Well, that's good.  And then they were outscored by 18 in the final 22 minutes of play.  That's not so good.  Laker apologists want to point out that the Lakers were good enough to build a 16-point lead on this Dallas team, but so friggin' what, ya know?  They blew the game!  They lost.

They were up by 3 with one minute left.  The Lakers last had a 5-point lead with 3:30 to play.

composite, let me ask you this - have you ever heard of anyone hitting a 50/1 shot who didn't have at least some luck on his side?  I never expected all four Dallas wins in this series to be easy.  I knew they'd have to squeak out at least one of the games in L.A. and probably one of the home games, too (like, probably tonight's game).

Hedge?  Hedge??  Shoot, I'm trying to stop kicking myself that I didn't bet more on the sweep at +4500, or more on the series at +315, or more on the series after Game 1 at +145..  Hedge?  Why would anyone want to hedge a bet when he feels like he didn't risk enough to begin with?

I won't be shocked if the Lakers show up tonight and reclaim some dignity with a Game 3 win, but even if they do, I believe they'll meekly lose two straight after that and get eliminated in front of their booing fans next Tuesday. 

EVEN IF.......the poisoned, unhappy Lakers manage one win in Dallas and therefore send this series back to Los Angeles, who here will be silly enough to trust them in Game 5?  In April and May, the Lakers have absolutely sucked at Staples Center.  They're 3-6 SU & 2-7 ATS, and one of those wins and covers was against a Spurs team that sat their starters, and in that game the struggling Lakeshow barely managed a 1-point cover.  The way I see it, the Lakers will suffer one of two ugly fates.  They will either get swept, or they will walk off the floor at Staples next Tuesday with their heads once again hung in shame.  I can't see a Game 6, sorry.

I thought the worst game of their lives happened last month when they dumped as 14.5-point home favorites to the shitty Utah Jazz?

a nickle at +5000 ....oh boy I cant imagine how your feeling right now. I know there is no bright side in the possibility of losing $250K IF the Lakers win tonight. But at least the series odds will drop considerably down to + money again for another opportunity for a huge payday.

I honestlty believe the Mavs take it tonight...and I will not wait around for the possibility of a better series price . I am FULLY invested in -270 at 3 books right now. It hurts me to say this but the Lakers are toast and I have't felt this way since after Game 4 in the 2008 Finals.

They were also up over 20 points against the Celtics in game 4 of the 2008 Finals. That game cost them the championship. Game 1 against Dallas cost them a chance to make this series go 7.
