I was at UFC 44 when TITO got SPANKED LITERALLY BY RANDY and wow could you feel the crowd going crazy. We werwe down in the Media room after the fight and these guys VITOR BELFORE, SILVA, TITO, RANDY, ARLOVSKY, ROGAN (was a littel shorter than I thought) were so down to earth.
that's awesome!

Boxing can get boring at times. This last weekend there were some great fight you should youtube. ORTIZ vs BERTO or NAVA vs TORRES. Boxing needs to inject some type of excitement into the sport, maybe display the scorecards after every round or possibly ONLY pay the winner and the loser gets only his expenses and 20% of purse. NOT SURE WHAT THEY NEED TO DO.
They need to clone Mike Tyson!

They need to have those old school UFC type of fight were it was all decided in ONE night. Get a group of fighter in a certain weight class and go at it.

Yeah, I'm sure GSP is over-valued. That's why I would never wager on him SU at these odds. Won't it be pretty hard to cheer for your wager to win and to root for GSP at the same time? :)
Bodio, you can do it, like you've done before. Reminded me of your words from the NFC champonship game, which you were right on.
"I don't bet for the 'rush'. I bet to make $$. Try to treat it as an investment not gambling (yeah, I know that probably doesn't make much sense).
I get the rush from cheering for my Bears, which I will be doing whole-heartedly today!"
Too bad Cutler didn't feal that rush

I actually like Hominick to upset Aldo. Aldo is coming off an unpublicized pinch nerve in his back. The Canadian challenger has better technical standup. Aldo is very overhyped. He's outstanding, no doubt, and probably wins; but four out of every five times? Absolutely not. I have Hominick by TKO at +800 and higher. It's foolish to annoint someone as a pound-for-pound best when the competition they've faced thus far has been lacklustre and we still don't know how good of a chin they have. We're going to find out Saturday for sure.
I love GSP against Shields. I also love Machida against Couture. Both are great style matchups for the younger fighters. Machida has a great sumo base to counter Randy's wrestling. Couture also has been very distracted by his burgeoning movie career. Furthermore a year and a half ago Randy was getting beat-up by a very slow Big Nog. Since then Couture has beaten James Toney and Mark Coleman and lost to Vera despite getting the decision nod. Get your money on Machida. And as soon as GSP stuffs a telegraphed Shields takedown, that fight is essentially over.
I also like Bocek and Pierson (by submission and decision, respectively, if you like props). I have Machida finishing Couture by TKO and GSP finishing Shields by TKO in the fourth or fifth round.
If you want to hedge, take Shields by submission (his only avenue of victory, Aldo by submission (his smartest path to victory), Couture by split-decision, Henderson by decision, and Ellenberger by TKO.
Thanks for all your work Bodio.

my bad for the late response, Bodie I think the most safest play would be your Memphis Play with Aldo, and if you want to throw in GSP in there I wouldn't disagree also brother. Like I said GSP should win this fight, it's just I never count Jake Shields out. I placed a good wager on him when he was +400 against Dan Henderson. I thought I was going to get a stroke when I saw Hendo land that H-Bomb on his chin, but he survived and won a boring ass descision. Jake has pillow hands for punches, but his ground is undeniable. That being said this is MMA, and the UFC wants GSP to win to possibly set a superfight with SILVA. Memphis + GSP + Aldo is probably the right pick.

In response to your Hominick pick, you have to question who has he fought? People can question who has Aldo fought? But I believe I believe Aldo's victims Faber, Mike Brown, and even Gamburyan would beat Hominick. Plus your basing your Hominick KO victory over competition like George Roop? Aldo can win this fight standing and the ground. He hasn't even shown his World Class Jiu jitsu in a fight yet. He won the Worlds in brazillian Jiu jitsu and his camp Nova Uniao is no joke, they are the ones who really created BJ Penn. The only guy that I see who can threaten Aldo in the featherweight division are the light weights who are actually cutting down to fight in his division ie: Kenny Florian. That being said Hominick is fighting in his home town. But so was Faber and we all saw what Scarface Aldo did to his legs. Aldo is the pick

very few are in GSP's class but I think Shields is the closest out of everyone in his division. Shields is better than Fitch IMO who is the consensus number 2 welterweight
better hope he doesnt gas out like his last fight.
