I wish I could convince you to abandon the whole 'rigged/fixed' concept. It really does put a black eye on the rest of us bettors for any bettor with self respect to claim it. You've said plenty of logical things here, until you mention it and try to explain the fixes. Do you realize how much it would take for fixing to happen? Do you think there's a special phone by the sidelines that a player takes a call from Vegas at a timeout? I mean, it really just is a fucking absurd concept.
Vegas is GOING to make money, always. They don't need to "fix" any results. There are 2 sides to every bet. And upsets happen, and SHOULD happen. But not because of any fixing. Because any given day, one team can beat another team. I have been the victim of many bad beats and moosings. But I've also been on the lucky side as well. And when I was on the wrong side, I never once thought "Man, the fix was in there."--Nope, was just sports. Wild and entertaining, I'm a sports lover first before a gambler. And I would be more depressed just watching sports as a sports lover, if I ever believed that these sports I love could ever be pre-determined by some magical Vegas hand. Thank goodness I know the reality of how absurd and false that is.

David Stern rules the NBA with an Iron Fist. Whatever he says, goes. Whether Vegas is involved or not is a whole other topic. I can picture Vegas striking some sort of a deal with the commissioner, doesn't have to be about money. Men with power who have a shit ton of money, aren't only interested in making more money. You want what you don't have, plain and simple. If you ask me what is something money cant get you? Certain forms of Power. But that is a whole other topic aside.
