Lol how do you know they couldn't win the east with this supporting cast?? The east was garbage this year... The path to the finals was a joke.  Plus give lbj their supporting casts and we don't know what would happen, the East was very tough.  Let's be honest, and this is fact, the east the past 4/5 years has been brutal. The records East vs the western teams is pretty crazy. Even just looking at the playoff teams past 4 years you can see it as plain as day.

Lbj or bird, mj, or magic with this supporting cast doesn't get out if first round back in the 90s or 80s. Or 2015 western conference too, I think the cavs with their record would of been a low seed in the west. They Might of gotten bounced in first round.

How many 4th qtrs has lbj gone scoreless in the playoffs? MJs bulls 6-0 in finals and never even played a game 7.

First of all lol... LeBron complains now about fouls, do you seriously see him surviving the physical nature of the game then? I mean seriously, Jordan utilized his athleticism to protect himself from those attempting to injure him constantly. Bron is nice, that's not debate worthy... and that's hilarious when people say look at Jordan's teams lol. The 72 win team was stacked, I'll admit... but the first 3 peat team cast was not loaded. Those players never did anything after playing with MJ except Horace Grant and Pippen. Athleticism back then didn't matter if you weren't strong and could take a beating. It was guys getting bridged and pushed out of the air. Yeah, guys now are tremendous athletes, I get it...but their bones are also awfully brittle. You see more ACL tears than ever now. The game has evolved today to enhance theatrics and showtime... flagrant this and flagrant that. It took a lot to be ejected from an NBA game during Bird, Magic, and Jordan's time. It had to be a literal brawl. Not to mention, include the factor of real legitimate big men and rim protectors! We have none today... the paint was a war zone.

Take the list of all time greats that Michael had to go through to get his titles, and go through the all time greats that Lebron has had to go through. The difference is staggering.

Then, take the combined record of the Eastern Conference teams Michael went through, and compare that to the records of the teams Lebron had to go through. Again, the difference will be staggering.

LeBron's greatness cannot be underestimated, but in no way, shape, or form should he ever be compared to Jordan.

Anyone who talks about the physical nature of the game and how lebron could not handle it is a good ball. If lebron grew up then playing like that against the far less superior players as a whole athletically back then as well as significantly smaller. The more contact allowed would just be a plus as there has NEVER been a player with his size speed and athleticism.....it's big business now so they have changed the approach of the game to protect their investments. Plus most people want to see an open fast paced product. That is just straight logic.....not sure why so many people get confused with that. Allowing more contact would be beneficial to him if that was the norm......plus lebron has to complain and exaggerate a bit b/c the refs don't call it a lot because when he gets fouled it looks weak because of his pure physicality just like they used to do shaq. If lebron got the James harden love he would shoot 20 free throws a game....easy.

He did not have to go through many all time greats in the finals......91 had the Lakers with a bunch of previously great players about to retire. The other teams had Shawn Kemp, stockton, Malone, and barkley. We have already established in this thread all that matters is titles. So none of those guys can be all time greats. Basketball was at a very weak point when he did his winning. All the other greats retired or about to retire. The players as a whole back then we're so weak compared to now. Let's say for example the jazz from the finals played the warriors now. Does anyone on here think they would even stand a chance. Hornacek and stockton guarding the splash brothers. RIGHT!!!!!!! Malone would still get but he is the only guy on that jazz team that could do work today

You're just a LeBron fanatic stuck on confusion. You lost ALL credibility just saying that the TRUE GREATS were weak. You didnt mention Drexler, Ewing, Isiah, Olajuwon...I could go on for days. But you my friend have exceeded your disrespectful limitations lol. (Coughs) and the 91 Lakers were old...kinda like the Spurs now... who your beloved lost to last year. BTW Magic wasn't old, he was infected...he still had a lot left in the tank when he walked away. A weak point?!! Man the league was stacked!!! Then there were TRUE shooting guards and centers. Wade and Kobe are the last 2 guards of a dying breed. No REAL center exists...just stop...

screw the titles. the measure of a basketball player is his entertainment value on the court. One player revolutionized the 360 high flying slam dunk. the other refuses to play in the dunk contest.

millenials are short changed that they could never witness the greatness of jordan in his first few years when all he cared about was dunking as amazing as possible. 100% lost art.

It's funny people talk about the "great talent" of today...

The talent is so great, teams play "hack a shack" to win....

Lebron James sure has some tough big men guarding the hoop today...I mean look at those stud centers in the East...go ahead name 1???

And like has been said by myself and others, look how pathetic the East teams are as a whole....I bet Lebron has played maybe 8 total series getting to the finals against teams with winning records...

People might be better athletes today, but not better basketball players!!

haha Darius Miles.   What better representative of the league today than a guy who teams didn't want as early as 2002. 

Lebron would probably be getting his 3rd ring if not for the fluke knee collision that took out Kyrie.   Lebron can definitely still win 4 more rings.

The NBA that Jordan played in was a lot more physical than the NBA Lebron plays in. I'll leave it at that.

These comparison threads are so dumb.  Why do you compare them?  They play different positions, have different skill sets, and played in different generations.  The championship argument is so basic and unoriginal.  It really proves nothing.  If you replace Lebron with Michael on this Cavs team, they would've won 1 game max.  

The championship narrative is so overblown.  Why didn't Jordan win a ring every single season?  He only got there 6 times in 15 seasons.  How about the 9 seasons that he didn't win a title?  Lebron has made 6 finals in 12 seasons.  Mind you, Lebron is only 30.  Michael only had 3 at age 30.  If Lebron gets to 6 in the next 6-7 years, I don't see why having 6 rings while losing in 4 finals is worse than going 6 for 6.  I just don't understand why everyone is so hung up on the 6 for 6 and not the fact that 9 seasons he didn't make the finals.  

I think it's dumb in general to compare the two players, but if you want to compare them, wait until Lebron's career is over.  

And you have to be a complete moron to fault him if the Cavs lose this title.  What he's doing right now is as impressive as Jordan ever was in a Finals.  

Enough with the comparisons.  It's boring, especially when it comes after Lebron loses a game.
