    Ok smarty pants: who is the best defender out of all three of these guys, KD, Klay or Lebron? Lebron. It’s not close. Participation trophy goes to you though. Congrats.

    Lebron was a solid defender in his prime, but not anymore and hasn't been for 4-5 years. Most NBA pundits and former players consider Klay one of the best two way players in the game today, whether or not that reflects on being All Defensive 1st or 2nd team is a different story because he may not get the steal and block numbers. Again Draymond gets most of the defensive love on the Warriors from the media. You must consider that Klay defends the best perimeter player on the Warriors every night. Guys like Lebron do not. Again, in the Finals last year they would not even let Lebron guard KD nor did he guard Kawhi in their matchups, despite Lebron being the most optimal physical matchup. That should tell you something about his defense in recent years

    Also.....how many times has Klay or KD made the 1st or 2nd All Defense Team? Ready? 0. Neither have EVER made it.

    How many times has LBJ made the 1st Team All Defensive Team? Ready? 5. Yes 5.

    2nd Team All Defensive Team? 1.

    LBJ = 6 TOTAL

    Klay and KD = 0.

    So help me here....is there even a discussion here? Do me a favor and I’m being polite when I say this: IF KD OR Klay make one of these teams, let me know ok? Thanks. Done and done.

    When you have a chance go watch the 2017 Finals again. Tell me who was the worst defender in the series out of the three. It was not KD or Klay.

    Normally I won’t tell someone they are wrong but here....YOU ARE 100% WRONG. There is nothing tangible that supports your argument here. Nothing. If you had something, anything that supported your argument, great but everything you say, it’s pure opinion. If “NBA pundits and former players” consider Klay to be that good, where is the evidence to back it up? You are in over your head here and you are the type that even after I supply you tangible evidence that supports my stance and PROVES you wrong, you still will be stubborn. You waana make excuses that because Draymon is on the warriors, KD and Klay dont get their due? Well when Lebron played with wade and bosh, he still got recognized. Your points are weak bud and I’m just being honest here. It’s like me saying that Karl Malone back in the day was more of an MVP than MJ in the 90s yet how many MVPS did Jordan have in comparison to Malone? At least with Malone he had the award ONE YEAR. Klay and KD....not ONCE. You obviously don’t watch basketball when you say that lebron guards dogsh@t players. I could give you multiple examples in this years playoffs alone that go against that comment. But hey.....it’s apparent that regardless of what info I give you, you will keep at it with NOTHING tangible to offer. You do understand the difference between tangible and intangible, right? I hope so. I’m done here. Take care

Take care

    You do realize that Lebron is 5-6 years older than Klay and KD right? He has played 8 more seasons than Klay, which might you know skew this comparisons a little you think? Guarantee you Klay and KD will have some all-defensive team selections on their resume by the time they carry 15 seasons under their belt like Lebron. I mean Klay is in season 6 in his career.

    LBJ = 6 TOTAL

    Klay and KD = 0.

    Again....let me know when either one gets on those teams ok? Klay in year 6? Ok so he’s 6 behind LBJ. He better get moving? How many years has KD been in the league? Exactly. More and more excuses from you that actually make your stance look even worse. Are you reading your stuff bud? Prolly not.

    Dude way to misrepresent my argument. I never once said Lebron did not play defense EVER in his career. My overall argument is that he is no longer elite defensively. Of those 6 all defensive team selections in his career how many have come in the last 5 years? Maybe 1? Kind of proves my point right? Klay and KD are much better defensively today than Lebron is. Not difficult to comprehend.

    Great rebuttal. Nothing tangible that even hints at there being a comparison. Nothing.  I knew that already though. You’ve made excuses but you’ve offered nothing TANGIBLE. Age has NOTHING to do with this bud and let me explain why below: you are pulling and pulling from the hat but the rabbit ain’t budging.

    Lebron: 15 years and 6 total awards of being on one of those teams.

    Klay: 8 years less in the league (your excuse) yet 0 awards. 0. So if math serves me right, Klay better get on those teams 6 of the next 7 consistently to stand next to Lebron, right? Can one assume that the younger you, the more attention you are prolly gonna lay to defense? It makes sense right? Well then why no awards then? Is Klay gonna find the fountain of youth and all the sudden get recognized? Come on man.

    You say you GUARANTEE KD AND KLAY will get those awards yet you contradict your argument in that because of age, you think lebrons defensive days have passed him up. The awards say so so I will give you that considering he hasn’t made those teams recently. Yet KD and Klay as they get OLDER, their defensive approach will get better though? They have yet to get ONE yet you are promising me they will close the gap on the better defender in lebron? Bro....you are all over the place. Before you type your response, read this post here because it’s evidence that you are reaching and it’s evidehce that actually contradicts your original stance. I can’t help you anymore here.

    Where is the evidence that supports that? You still have yet to answer the question. What can you offer that isn’t pure opinion and bias? You have no point either. You never had. Answer the question above though and don’t give me bs. Where is the evidence? PER numbers, defensive efficiency? You can’t even dig that up. You could be right bud; MY POINT all alone is that you are lazy in that you can’t and won’t find anything tangible that supports your opinion. You get that, right? Why am I wasting my life here? God help me. Ok I promise you I’m done now. It’s too funny going back and forth with someone who says they are because it’s their viewpoint rather than them supporting their stance with something, anything.

    Not necessarily age, but seasons on the body. Again, Lebron skipped college so he has additional seasons on that body in the NBA. KD was 7th in the league in blocks per game and averaged nearly a steal per game. Lebron was nowhere near the top ten in blocks or steals per game, which are some tangible stats for you. Not to mention like I said Lebron is not asked to guard the opposing team's best perimeter defender anymore.

Make sense? You say lebron quits and I don’t doubt that in past performances but if you watched the game last nite, you’d know the better team defense didn’t show up and Durant is included in that. He was dogsh@t defensively and in comparing the games and numbers between lebron, curry and Durant in game 2s this week, only a stubborn individual would STILL think lebron is the only quitter in those games. It’s beyond me how a guy who didn’t take any games off this year, who is older in age, provides double digit opportunities for his team to score (those are what we call assists), grabs double digit boards and scores more points than Durant who had no assists (selfish) and 3 rebounds at 7 feet tall. Explain that for me please? 3 boards?! Are rebounds and assists not important? Do they not help the team? Oh but lebron didnt get back on defense and his body language stunk! Haaaaa! Well watch the game last nite dave. Curry played no defense neither did Durant and the “tie breaker” for me is that even though none of those 3 played great defensively, the numbers outdo curry and Durant by a mile. It’s called PRODUCTION so if one has better production why aren’t we calling out the super team mvps with rings in curry and Durant who had less production? Is my point that hard to follow? It’s because you just hate lebron; other than that the argument is crap because I’m referring to apples vs apples. If lebron is getting called out MY POINT IS THAT THE FAVORITES, THE EASY ROAD TAKERS JUST LIKE LEBRON, THEY SHOUKD BE CALLED OUT TOO. This is factual bud. I can argue that Durant is more of a b@tch than lebron. Sure Leveon left for Miami but for Durant to get beat 3 in a row by the warriors and then join the warriors the year after; ITS THE WEAKEST MOVE IVER EVER SEEN IN SPORTS, EVER. Don’t even get me started on curry who sits out almost 2 months for a bs injury so he can get rest. Somehow NOBODY talks about these two; it’s all about Lebron who hasn’t complained one time for the TEAM THAT QUIT ON HIM IN THE OFFSEASON AND ALL THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. What do I know though? I’ve exhausted my energy here making a very simple point.

    Well....it’s called supporting details and tangible evidence and when dealing with individuals who say they are right offering only opinion and bias, yes it’s hecessary in this sh@t show of a site. Rather than cry like you and denounce facts and reality because you simply hate an athlete (very mature) I provide detail and evidence. You should try it. As for being wrong, I’ve been wrong many times and have admitted. Rather than be lazy like the guy above though, maybe you should read the posts. An infant could tell you that I’m not wrong here. As I stated before to you: I can’t help stupid. I just can’t do it. You can call it ego or me being an a$$ and that’s ok. I’d love to be proven here but like our situation last week and this week, I get opinion and bias. As I write this I’m doing my best to write and look in the mirror. It’s a tough task!

It’s too funny going back and forth with someone who says they are because it’s their viewpoint rather than them supporting their stance with something, anything.

    Geeze you are so high and mighty aren't you? Watch the games bro. Go watch the 2017 Finals and please tell me Lebron is still an elite defender. You sound like one of these new school analytics guys ha. I do not put much weight into analytics like defensive efficiency because they do not tell the story. Zaza is ranked higher than Marc Gasol, but I doubt anyone thinks Zaza is a much better defender than Gasol a former DPOY winner. Answer me this since you love to ask questions. If Lebron is such an elite defensive player today why was Ty Lue so afraid to have him guarding KD in the finals last season? Yet KD stuck Lebron. Why does Lebron consistently not guard the opposing teams best perimeter player? I enjoy the debate, but you do not need to be so angry. Geeze.

    Also watch the games.. Lebron consistently fails to get back on defense and cherry picks at the other end. he consistently gets blown by as an on-ball defender and throws his hands up in the air yelling at teammates when he gives up a layup. Watch the games. It will happen tonight too. When it does maybe I'll post a link.

    It's funny I give you a tangible defensive stat in which KD is much better than Lebron from this season in Blocks per game 7th in the league and I hear nothing. Lebron is 42nd in blocks per game and 26h in steals per game. He is not all that elite anymore like I said. Get off the high horse buddy.

    Deezy: You are right. I’m wrong. Ok? Feel better. My god. What’s the point here? You like KD and Klay who have yet to be on all defensive teams and I like lebron who has been on those teams 6 times. It doesn’t matter what I say; you will stay with your stance. That’s great. Good for you. Covers warrior or not, enjoy your day guy. I feel like the mediator in Billy Madison movie during the end debate where he says: At no point did you answer the question and as a result everybody in the audience is dumber because of it”. I’m to blame here though because I’m the idiot who actually goes back and forth here. I gotta do better. I do.

    I like Klay and KD currently defensively over Lebron yes. You finally got my point. I do not care how Lebron's defense looked in 2008(10 seasons ago) when he made a 1st team all defense. I am talking about today.

    Thanks sir. Have a good night and good luck with your wager tonight. I actually enjoy reading some of your line analysis.

    i didn't reference all def team for why kd and klay are better defenders, you did.

    "Defensive win shares? Watch the games, listen to former NBA hall of famers, and look at all defensive teams, Klay and KD are better overall defenders than Lebron currently."

    I pointed out neither have made a def team in their careers. And won't this season. Your response...

    "Yeah I mean you covers Lebron lovers know more about the game than NBA hall of famers.peace_5 Tell me, do win shares take into account that Lebron doesn't even guard the opposing teams best player on most nights? And just so you know Lebron hasn't even made a 2nd team defense since 2014 (4 years ago). Klay has a good chance of making one of these teams this year, as does KD. Lebron does not."

    My argument was based on advanced metrics like def win shares and def real +/- per 100 possessions. Both favor LeBron, slightly, over KD. And I never said LeBon would make an all nba team, nice try though.

    It should also be pointed out that players on good defensive teams usually have better defensive stats like win shares and drpm. KD is on a very good defensive team...LeBron is on the second worst defensive team in the league. Yet he still has better stats than KD in those two categories.

    And what makes defensive teams good on defense? Possibly the players? Are you willing to concede that KD's team is a very good defensive team because of himself, Klay, and Draymond? Ironically, Cavs are the second worst defensive team in the NBA with Lebron on the roster. Ever think Lebron might contribute to some of the poor defense? Like when he does not sprint back or cross half court on defense? Just a thought.

    Again with the metrics... Do def win shares and def real +/- per 100 possessions take into account who defends which players. Like the fact that Lebron never guards the opposing team's best player or primary scorer? Just something to consider. These stats do not tell the whole story. KD and Klay consistently guard opposing teams best wing players and leading scorers.
