Scal, better to be lucky than good sometimes. Nice call and it is nice to win for a change. I had 300 on the tease and another 200 on the Rockets -4 as a hedge (after I thought we were losing the Nets game). I'll take it. But I'm telling you, Friday is the day we make some real money. Brooklyn, big!

Didn't think you'd take it so offensively lol. All I meant was my standpoint still stood the same if you were to win this bet. I've watched every match too in this series and I have watched Houston go on countless big runs only to have portland catch up. Every. Single. Time. Lol.

I disagree a lot on the way many people cap games as would any other capper. But what u just said is not true man. Win or lose I still think it was the wrong play. Sorry to get you upset

    BB,

We didn't really have to be lucky. Luck was the Nets side. We were inside our number by a full 6 points!

We had eight big ones here and while side bettors were biting their nails at the end, I calmly watched knowing only OT could screw me. That is why teasing is so effective. We were a full 6 points outside of our number. Did we need a gigantic comeback? Oh yes. But still as the nets threw the kitchen sink at the Raps in the fourth, with 8 on your side, you had a glimmer of life (even though I never thought the nets could muster what they did).

And the Houston side was always with us no matter how close it got. It was always about the ML and was the strongest one of the year.

The sides in these games are becoming a joke.

    Tonight:

Raps side - incredible comeback moose
Nets side- needs a 4 point Allen Anderson play to get inside the number
Mavs Spurs - more blown free throws makes the game land on the number or just outside of it
Houston Portland - close late giving all Portland side bettors hope but Houston pulls away as expected.

That's what you put up with if you bet sides tonight and you had a heart attack win or lose.

Now what did the teases do? (And I really don't think posters here pull the trigger on my teases because they don't typically bet them and don't want to start):

Spurs Mavs - Tease Either team, you win.
Nets Raptors - Tease Either team, you win.
Houston Portland- tease Hou, you win. Tease Por, money refunded/no harm no foul.

That is 12 combinations of teases only 4 of which push:

    Spurs Nets W
    Spurs Raps W
    Spurs Hou W
    Spurs Port Push
    Mavs Nets W
    Mavs Raps W
    Mavs Hou W
    Mavs Port Push
    Nets Hou W
    Nets Port Push
    Raps Hou W
    Raps Port Push

    None lose.

You could be a complete idiot and you would have made money teasing tonight. That is why my last two posts (after a Raptors win by a mere .5 point) have been teases. It is the way to go in the 2014 Playoffs where spread and ML's have crashed and burned many times with big time favorites.

I look forward to your Nets Raptors post for game 6!

    Spurs Raps W
    Spurs Hou W
    Spurs Port Push
    Mavs Nets W
    Mavs Raps W
    Mavs Hou W
    Mavs Port Push
    Nets Hou W
    Nets Port Push
    Raps Hou W
    Raps Port Push

    None lose.

You could be a complete idiot and you would have made money teasing tonight. That is why my last two posts (after a Raptors win by a mere .5 point) have been teases. It is the way to go in the 2014 Playoffs where spread and ML's have crashed and burned many times with big time favorites.

I look forward to your Nets Raptors post for game 6!

Great post. Completely agree with you about teasing. Had most of us realized how close each series would be from the start and had teased from the get-go, we'd bee seeing allot of moneybags in our bankrolls right now.

The second round will be interesting, As I predict there won't be as many close games.

I disagree a lot on the way many people cap games as would any other capper. But what u just said is not true man. Win or lose I still think it was the wrong play. Sorry to get you upset

    I didn't take offense.

I said your post was "amazing", not offensive.

And you clearly saw what you wanted to see in these games. I watched them too, several times actually.

I didn't care if Portland came back from 100 down in 4 straight games, they were not winning this game. It's a terrible situation for them.

Not only didn't they win it, they lost by TEN and you are still contesting how I capped the game.

It's fairly embarrassing on your part.

Thanks for reading it and actually taking advantage of teasing. It really is the way to go at the moment with this round at least and as you noted, likely in the future rounds as well.

I parlyed Raps ML with Hou ML

and played Raps -3 solo and yes it was BRUTAL

Like you stated a few days ago, these playoffs have been the best ever!

    Parity across the NBA !!

Even a tiny -3 seems like I am trying to cover a 15-20 pts spread

    sick sick sick

Don't wanna throw u off track (doubt I will) But I am taking the Spurs Friday and feel pretty good about it!!

Again, I took no offense! I said your post was 'amazing'!

    Well please!

By all means, articulate what exactly you disagreed with.

Portland can come back? Is that all? Was it because I failed to mention that in an 8 post OP (there comes a point where you stop typing). You do know I knew that and was a reason why I teased it down to an ML right? What was wrong with the rest of the cap?

@examine - yes it is sick when 3 is sown thing you can't even lay after having a 24 point lead. I mean, gimmee a break.

At that point, I would want to raps to lose outright. Falling 1 pt under 3 is KILLER!

No problem. Your posts provide allot of valuable insight and we all appreciate your content that your bring on a consistent basis.

It's too bad I just began teasing since the past few days. I probably got turned off by them because of enormous amount of money i lost from doing teasers in the last month of the regular season AKA GS losing to the Knicks by 15, GS losing to the Nuggets,  Timberwolves beating the Heat in OT, etc.

There we go. Here's the scal I like to see rofl. Though you say you took no offence you made quite the effort to say my post was amazing and further stated that I was embarrassing myself. Normally this would mean you are offended but if you say you aren't all good.

I am comparing the two sides that you could have teased it with. And yes. Portland can come back and that is my strongest point. I'd indulge you in an essay in hoe I think Houston are fake and mentally one of the worst and how I think Portland is actually the better team. .. bit ill save it lol.

Houston ML itself was a good spot bet, but when I compare it to Portland teased in my eyes it doesn't seem like the correct choice. Why? Yes that is all. Portland has come back against every single Houston run from game 1. You can say it's lacking and not enough reason which is fine. :)

Scal, if teasing hadn't failed me the last two games of the season (I had OKC teased against NO and the Wolves teased against the Jazz, losing a total of 3,500) I would be doing it more. I lost another tease in the playoffs (Clips -2 and Spurs -3) as the Spurs lost at home. All in all, 4000 lost in teases and 2,000 won. Maybe they were bad teases but I think teasing, like any other form betting, requires a lot of research and diligence. You simply can't expect the extra points to save you. In essence, you need two games that have a very good chance of hitting with the original line, and a great chance of hitting with the extra points.

BB that's why you do the 3 team 9 pt teasers. That's if you don't mind buying the juice. (Though I tend to do the 4.5 teaser more often)

Then again I lost a good amount on a 4 team 10 pt teaser in the regular season.
