aireent777, don't think it didn't sink my spirits just a little to see you with a big bet on the Bulls this morning. I hope I can win tonight in spite of that.

I saw that thread yesterday, so I know you were on to this Chicago play before the Mavericks/Lakers game last night. I will absolutely vouch for you on that. I've read some of your reasoning in other people's threads as well, and what you wrote sounds good. I think we're on the right side here and I think we're going to win an easy one against this Dallas team that did little more than put a band-aid over their wounds last night in rallying to beat the Fakers in a game the home team clearly wanted much more. The Mavericks are playing their 6th game in 9 nights tonight in Chicago and each of their last 6 games was followed by a flight to somewhere else. Few things wear a team out more than returning from a long road trip only to have to board another flight after playng just one game at home (even if they do travel in an awesome private jet).

If you're right, I'll be totally impressed with the Mavs, because few road teams are able to overcome the lethargy brought on by this particular scheduling situation.

The tough part of their situation came not last night in their home game, but TONIGHT in their road game. I may have to buck the trendy "back the team that just beat the Lakers" trend in favor of the more proven "fade the team that just played a single home game on one days rest after returning from a road trip of four games or more and now has to board a plane again to play the next night somewhere else" trend. Nice, nice.....
Does Boozer being out for tonight's game scare you MrBator?

My posting about the Saints/Seahawks game was more an attack on the faulty reasoning some people were offering up. I posted a lot in one thread in particular that was started by a Washington guy and admitted Seahawks homer (which is fine) whose long writeup was almost entirely made up of wishful thinking. It's not that I was excited about taking New Orleans and I never had any intention of laying 10 points on a road team, but I sure couldn't make a case for Seattle either other than the "Nobody believed in us!" theory, which wound up working like a charm for the home team. On the day of the game, another guy started a thread asking for input on whether he should plow forward with his plan to bet big on the Saints moneyline. I posted extensively in that thread, too, on why that was a terrible idea. In the end I couldn't get myself to take the Seahawks so I had no action on that game. Do I regret sitting that one out?

When one Dallas backer after another is citing the absence of Carlos Boozer as a reason why they're betting on Dallas, then no, Boozer being out does not scare me. They mentioned on the Bulls telecast on Tuesday night that he would miss this game for sure, so I knew about his status before I made my move.

Thanks, EDDIEW. You got to see some Vegas legends in their prime. Elvis singing "Can't Help Falling In Love" at the International in '72. Sinatra crooning "Strangers In the Night" at the Sands in '75. Bator breaking down the Eagles/Cowboys Christmas Day game in '06. Man, you must have some stories....

I can accept buying out of a play....OK.....but when he starts saying that as soon as his original bet doesnt look good, it just sounds foolish. People say he is a great capper and has a lot of knowledge, but buying out of plays and posting both sides of plays in several threads just looks amatuer.
I can't get past the slander of these two posts, and when they're coming from the mouth of a dyed-in-the-wool squareball like hammer22, they're even more insulting. Who the fuck is hammer22 to imply that I lie about buying out of bets "as soon as his original bet doesn't look good"? Fuck you, hammer22. Get your damn facts straight next time before you accuse someone of that shit.

You've got to understand something, RT2011. I could not possibly care less if people choose to follow me or not. I'm here to learn from sharp posters, fade the bad ones, contribute when I feel I have something to contribute, and crack some jokes along the way. I'm not here to round up a following or "push newbies" to bet my plays. If I sometimes seem like I'm adamant about a game, well, that's called debate. I'm not trying to talk anyone into making a bet. I just make my case and people can do with my posts as they wish.

I don't care if anyone wants to call me names or write about how much I suck. I can let all that go, but if someone's going to slander me by implying that I claim to get off of bets while the games are in progress (and not looking good), then I'm going to step up and defend myself against those jealous goofs.
