By the way boys. Watch out for 36 at Daytona. Showed good speed and expect Blaney to do well. TBR's stuff isnt bad if they could get a little funding they could be a top 20 team week in and week out.

Steve Wallace makes his cup debut in the Daytona 500. And he has a guaranteed starting spot! I can`t see this setting to good with some drivers just trying to just make the field.

wow, didn't hear that....how is he guaranteed a spot? that kid will run in the back or cause the big 1, no one will draft with him....he is an accident waiting to happen.

Third-generation racer Steve Wallace will make his Sprint Cup Series debut -- and some Daytona International Speedway history -- as a guaranteed starter in the 2011 Daytona 500, driving a No. 77 Toyota fielded by Rusty Wallace Racing.

The program was facilitated by fellow team owner Roger Penske, who formed a partnership with Steve's father Rusty Wallace -- who drove in Cup for Penske from 1991 until he retired as a driver after the 2005 season -- in order to use the guaranteed spot in the top 35 of the owners' standings earned by Penske driver Sam Hornish Jr. in 2010.

Sorry I am true to my dirt track roots. I obviously know that he is not going to compete for a championship but they will run good on the super speedways. I have already forgotten more than you will ever know about racing and I am only 29! By the way I never said I was putting the house on him or anything.

The new Bud Shootout rules are a fucking joke.

It needs to go back to the old format of past year's pole winners and Shootout winners of the past 10 years. Make winning a pole more meaningful.

All this does is exclude a few drivers from the race like AJ, Truex, and Menard. Instead, we get to watch Conway embarrass himself.

I'm not big on sprints and infact would rather go to a good modified show but If you fellas ever get a chance to go watch the Chili Bowl sprints in Tulsa, Its well worh the money.

The Swindell's put on a great show Sat night.

JJ Yealy put on a good show Wednesday night before blowing up in the feature. Speaking of Wednesday night,....what a finish in the feature with 2 cars flipping across the finish behind local Tulsa boy Crawford who came from 3rd to win it on the last turn of the last lap.

No doubt a great show!!! I used to race go-karts there the weekend before. About 150-200 karts in my class. Ton of fun. Havent been back since finishing seconnd in 2000

I heard the kart races were awesome as well but Im not sure they still do that like they used to.

This is the first year my dad said he did not receive a flyer for the race so they may not. We had one kart and 2 different motors. A Kt100 and and open motor. Ran both classes and changed motors after each race. It was crazy but a ton of fun. Man I miss those days. Thinking about buying a some kind of spec late model to run around here.

Why not Keselowski at 40-1? He knows the draft. He's gotten a solid year of Cup racing under his belt. His teammate Kurt knows how to push and pushed Newman into a Daytona win. The only major ifs are Penske equipment and the fact Brad doesn't seem to have many friends on the racetrack, but with the new paving handling and needing a well handling race car shouldn't be an issue. Restrict'or plate races are such crap shoots, take a long shot.

For the shootout, I think you have to take a very serious look at Hamlin.

The way these restrictor plate tracks have evolved into 2-car breakaway racing is fairly new. I think Hamlin is one of the best at it. While he's now admitted that, while he had an advantage when it was brand new, most drivers are catching up to him.

He should have a ton of confidence coming into this race after his season last year. I hate Hamlin, but I think he's the favorite to win this race.
