I am not thinking of those type of soundtracks where you pulled in a lot of songs from well known artists.

More along the lines of a soundtrack score composed to the movie with original work.

Personally i would have to say Ennio Morricone - The Mission

Another soundtrack that is up there amongst the best is

"once upon a time in America"  Sergio Leones last movie, the legendary gangster movie with Robert Di Niro and others.

"To Live And Die In L.A." back in 1985...

Great frlick by the guy who directed the French Connection, William Friedken. I think he did the Exorcist also...

Anyway, believe it or not, the soundtrack was done by Wang Chung, so it's not believable that it's as awesome as I'm saying, but anyone who's seen the flick would probably agree with me........

They had "Points On A Curve"....a very respectably decent 80s album....put this awesome soundtrack out, and then tried as hard as they could to be the twin of Wham... just screaming    >>>>

Shawshank Redemption was really good. I'll go with that, but

from a money view, John Travolta held the music rights to SNF, and that soundtrack made him a millionaire...............
