Grace won appreciation from a host of revered musicians, including members of Buckley's biggest influence, Led Zeppelin.[79] Jimmy Page considered Grace close to being his "favorite album of the decade".[80] Robert Plant was also complimentary.[81] Others who had influenced Buckley's music lauded him:[82] Bob Dylan named Buckley "one of the great songwriters of this decade",[81] and, in an interview with Village Voice, David Bowie named Grace as one of the ten albums he would take with him to a desert island.[83] The album eventually went on to feature in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2003, appearing at #303.[84]
I couldn't care less of what any of these guys say, but some do.
I've already read this post, but rereading it, thinking a little more, that is quite impressive.....
Might actually buy it, since I was only able to find a portion of the album where I get my songs for free.
I need to have Grace in it's entirety and in it's original order.

Doesn't that always seem to happen? It happened to me with the Afghan Whigs, recently.

They played Buckley's Halleluyah song on the end of a House episode I saw the other night during a pretty dramatic ending. Perfect pick of music for the scene.

First time hearing this one. I love these lyrics. I'm not a lyrics guy, but his always captured my attention. Probably a people-from-the-same-generation type of thing.
Interpreting lyrics is usually very subjective. One person's meanings are another's fodder for criticism.
He always came off as being autobiographical in his lyrics. With that, I believe he's singing of a time when drugs, perhaps heroine, were a big part of his life and the effect it had on him. The ghost from his past could be himself, doesn't want to look in the mirror, eyes out of the sockets, blackened cab, pistol to the temple... this sounds somewhat like a suicide note.
There's even hints of man on man love in there.
He says, "this is no song for the dislocated." Maybe he's letting everyone know through song, where he's at. The dislocated know what he's talking about. It's the grounded, straight thinking folks who love him who are confused?
I don't know, man. Really good song.
Thanks.

i agree with you on the part about him possibly being bi-sexual. that is how precieved it. maybe its me but JB had always made reference to guns and suicide in some way....or maybe its because i have listened to this song a million times.
