Depends on the genre.

Old school rock would either be Beatles-Revolver or Beatles-White Album.

Newer rock would be PJ-Vitology or GNR- Appetite for Destruction.

Rap would be either Raekwon-Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Tupac-All Eyez on Me or Biggie-Ready to Die.

Punk would be Clash-London Calling or Rancid-And Out Come the Wolves.

All my opinion, of course!

Any genre. Whatever you think is the greatest piece of work put together on one album.

What? Not Bob Dylan? Great choice with Dark Side of the Moon I am sure Robert Zimmerman has one in your top 5.

For me I would have to say:

The Beatles- Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. This work was far ahead of it's time and influenced many to come.

Dylan has so many great ones, its hard to choose just one. If I had to make a top 5 I would have to consider Highway 61 revisited, Freewheelin', and Bringing it all Back Home. A lot of people like Blood On the Tracks and Blonde on Blonde but I think the three I listed are a lot better than those two. If I had to choose one I might go with Bringing It all Back Home, but i'm not sure it would make my top 5. Dylan is just consistently great from album to album more so than establishing just one or two phenominal pieces of work.
