The Yanks can beat anybody. Cashman will never learn that Pitching wins championships, but not 44 year old guys that can only go 6 innings
I just decided to check how this thread was going and saw this comment. It is true how you don't know much. We got Clemens because he wanted to come back, and the Yankees had so many injuries that they needed a solid arm. And thats what they got. But you really shouldn't be talking about Cashman. Did Cashman go after Gange? Nope, and look what happened. Did Cashman go after Dice-K? Probably, but the price was not worth it. And he has not yet prooved that he deserves that much money. But when you look at the players who are doing their job in the Bronx. You have Melky, Cano and Duncan, just to name a few, I don't even think any of them get over 1mill a year yet. And they brought up Jabo instead of going after a highly priced pitcher who is doing nothing. And when you mention that Mo is having the worst season of his career, thats because of his awful start. He was pissed that he didnt get the contract extension, but he looks to have gotten over that. And he has been solid ever since his series with the BoSox. He got himself together and only started to melt down when he went to Cleveland. Watch, he will get his shit together and become the pitcher that everyone knows he can be. And all Yankee fans of course wish he could pitch like he has for many more years to come, but we all know he isn't Roger Clemens, and can't do that. But what the Yankees have in their farm, they can fill the closer role. Of course it will never be the same, but it will be filled. But don't expect that for a few more years. Because everybody will be wanting to come back after they win the World Series.

I still dont know why we needed Gagne.....He has just fucked up our late inning bullpen because Francona's dumb ass thinks that he has to use him. Why in the hell did we break up Okajima in the 8th and Papelbon in the 9th ? Can someone please tell me that. I know he wanted to let Papelbon and Okajima rest after they both pitched in the first game. But Okajima probably has an arm like Dice-K that can throw 200 pitches a game. Those person's can throw forever

And I have disagreed with the Gagne move ever since it happened. Gagne is not right, his arm still must be fucked up. U are right everyone knew what Clemens was gonna give them but how much did you dumb asses pay for him ?? Of course his ass is gonna want to play for like 600 thousand dollars a start or whatever it was. Who would turn down 20 Mil a year when they are 44 ?
The reason Cashman couldnt go after any more arms is because of the names Pavano and Kevin Brown and on and on.

please shove the Yanks overpaid argument up your arse......Yanks are most profitable US sports franchise.....Steinbrenner shits 100 bills
Dont disagree there... Why dont you read the whole thing if you are gonna make comments. I wasnt saying they didnt have the money because they have plenty of it. Just talking about the waste of money

You bring up a good point. Of course a 44 year old pitcher doesn't deserve $20+ million for half a season, no matter what he brings to the table. But instead of bringing up Ian Kennedy, and having another really young pitcher starting and possibly hurting their future, they went after a guy who they knew could lift the ballclub and knew the ballclub. And ever since Clemens has arrived, Farnsworth has been pitching very well because Clemens taught him how to be a better pitcher. And nother reason they didn't go after any more arms is because of those 2 pitchers. Which I agree completely. But no pitcher who hasn't been there before can handle it. Johnson got booed out of there many times. Brown, Vazquez, Weaver all pitched like shit there. And Pavano is getting $10,000,000 a year to pitch 10 games, if that many. It's just starting pitching isn't working for them no matter who they get. I wouldn't even want them to pursue Johan Santana after the season because they would probably ruin him too. You could add Contreras to that list as well. Bringing pitchers to the Yanks hasn't worked for a while.
Also, I wasn't understanding that Taveraz move today. I know Wakefield has great stats against the D-Rays, but if they can't get 1 pitcher in that solid rotation they have to beat the Devil Rays, then they really shouldn't be in this. Facing Kazmir is bad enough, and now if Wakefield has a bad outing, then their plan backfired, and they may be 3 games up. I'm just saying.

Man, I have no clue what they are doing. There is no way that they should have moved Wakefield back to pitch against the D-Rays and let Tavarez pitch today. They needed to beat the Angels today and could not beat a Lefty pitching good ball but now not only do they face a Lefty again they face an even better lefty at home. I really dont like them to win tomorrow even with Wakefields success against them. I am starting to really think that Francona is trying to give the Yanks the AL East........Gagne, now this.......Francona is a Phucking Idiot

He is probably blowing games so that the Yanks are within 1 or 2 games behind before the series in the Bronx. I can't wait for that series. Especially if it is a really close race.

Yanks will still be only two games out when it's all said and done by the end of this night. I'm here Papi 4 MVP clown., not going anywhere. We'll win this wild card and see your ass in the playoffs.
Yea you looked pretty good tonight.....Maybe you should pull up another Minor Leaguer to get smashed and send the Moose to the minors.
