    Who said that?

We said you can't judge a guy based on 11 career starts. Case in point...Halladay's first 33 starts.

You're right. Hill has struggled. He has also been hurt. But he is one of the better 2nd basemen in the entire league: when he is healthy. You are wrong on one thing though, they have tons, and tons, and tons of money. The city would hop all over a good Blue Jays team - trust me. If they start winning the place will be rocking. Thats the way Toronto works.

Im not angry at all, Ive had many arguments on here with logical people and its been fine. This guy just clearly knows nothing about Toronto and is making blind statements. I never once said that package would get Pujols, show me once where I did? I actually stated several times that package wouldnt get him. All I said were the players listed werent garbage or nobodys. Also, I know they have horrible attendance, but they have a great TV viewing audience, and their owner is Rogers who is never short on cash so my point about money not being an issue is valid

justdam, I actually hope your right. I grew up in Niagara Falls N.Y. when the Blue Jays were an expansion team & used to go see them fairly regularly with my dad. I grew up somewhat of a Jays fan because of that (although i loved the Royals because Brett was my favorite player). I'd like to see them make a comeback, especially since i hate the Yankees so much!

I am also from Toronto, and as the original poster I encourage you to read the  keyword in the headline in the thread "RUMOUR",  not that its finalized or even if the negotiations have started.

That's awesome DG! I really believe they are on their way. I mean its going to take a few more years, but they have some wicked players coming up (Brett Lawrie...) and I think with a few smart moves they will figure it out. Its a very tough division though... !

STL isn't stupid.  They aren't gonna trade one of the best hitters in the game for an average pitcher who could be the next Todd Van Poppel and an injury-prone 2nd baseman who has 0 HR's this year and a prospect no one has ever heard of.

Sharp. Drabek is above avg. Hill has been hurt most of the year and has yet to find his stroke. I dont think the deal will go through anyway, probably because it is more of a RUMOR than anything realistic. But you really don't know the Jays and talk like you do. so. please. stop. you're making me want to

The Giants might as well trade Madison Bumgarner, Mike Fontenot and Brandon Belt for AROD

I think for Pujols the Jays would have to give up something like Drabek Lawrie and Stewart. 3 of our top prospects. As a jays fan I wouldnt do that deal, but thats what STL would ask at least

BlazinJays, c'mon man. It's easy to say Jays fans are loyal & you have a large fan base, but if you don't go to the games it doesn't matter. I'm not arguing that the team has the cash to pay Pujols, but to say they have a lot of fans is a little misleading. Of course they have a big fan base because they are the only MLB baseball team in Canada, but a base is not actual attendance. LA has a huge fan base, but they couldn't keep either of their football teams there.

As far as you being able to get another player of Pujols caliber for less & Pujols not being worth Drabek & Hill? Well, i don't know how much of a baseball fan you are, but that's a ridiculous comment. Not trying to offend you, but that trade would be a no brainer IMO.

Through his first 33 starts he had an ERA over 5. So according to you he's a below average pitcher and a nobody.
