Well he certainly isn't garbage.

Sharp he could very easily turn into a ridiculous pitcher. He is a kid, he's got the stuff, he's got the time, he's got the coaching. Its a very good possibility. Agree with weebs, he is far, far from garbage.

just like how Mark Prior had so much promise, at least Prior did something, all Drabek has done is have a 5 ERA

If this happens it will  both teams I believe. Berkman to first base Jon Jay to Right field and Matt H. batting 3rd. Toronto would now have two sluggers again with Jose and Pujols(Wells now an Angel) with Lind they will contend with more offense at least. Pitching will still be a factor to deal with in the long haul though for both teams even with the additions and subtractions.

ok you just keep naming cubs pitchers who ended up sucking. Congrats, your organization doesnt know how to develop its pitchers. Drabek is a rookie, check lincecums and halladays rookie stats then come back

33 starts, 13-14 record, 5.77 ERA, 1.71 WHIP

Its his first real season. It is 2 months in. He has showed ups and downs. There is no doubting that the kid has the stuff. If you are just looking at the stats of a young pitcher and not actually watching him pitch and how he handles situations then you really are not getting a full picture.

might as well compare, Drabek to Sandy Koufax, since you're comparing him to Halladay

We're not mad about that. Believe me...ALL of us have been to many games that have drawn 10-15 thousand. There's no denying that.

I'm from Toronto and will say this: There is NO WAY Pujols is coming here.  The Jays never land the megastar.  I do think it's a good deal though: Drabek will be amazing in a few years.

1. Rogers Communication has no money because no fans come to the game.

2. Drabek is crap because his ERA after 11 career starts is 4.80.

These aren't exactly the strongest arguments, IMO.

Steelwill, do you always get this angry when someone disagrees with you? I relaize Sharpbettor may not have all the facts, but he didn't say anything that outrageous. Here are some facts though...Toronto was only 19th in profits in MLB 2010, they're 26th in value according to forbes in 2010 & 21st in attendance. I also know that Toronto is always going to be a Leafs town, but the Leafs only play at the same time as the Blue Jays for 2 weeks of the season. Does any of this mean they won't go after Pujols? Maybe not, but i don't see how it makes much sense for them. By the way, i do think Drabek will be a number 1 starter & i admitt i'm not familiar with Cobbs, but Hill is very questionable now. He's only had 2 good seasons & last year he hit .205 along with hitting .225 with no HR''s so far this year. That package wouldn't get it done IMO.
