To the Jays for Kyle Drabek, Aaron Hill and some guy Cobbs, this according to Bob McCown of the FAN590 in Toronto a few minutes ago. I find it hard to believe.  Anybody else hear this?

Ya I heard about it as well. The only way this should happen is if Pujols signs an extension first, no way i would trade away the future of Drabek for this season.  Nonetheless, id take AP in a heartbeat if it doesnt impact the long term growth of this team. It would also boost attendance at the Rogers Center.

Toronto doesn't have the money to pay him.  Anyways, I thought he was going to the Cubbies when he hugged the Cubs' owner

Toronto stated they arent afraid of doubling their payroll next season, they have the money. Its a matter of whether Pujols wants to sign and stay in T.O or not. They arent going to give up the future is AP doesnt stay

Besides, Kyle Drabek is the next Doug Drabek (good, but not great) and Aaron Hill is the same (good, but not great either.)  And who the hell is Cobbs?

Are you serious? Youre a moron. Not all money comes from attendance. Toronto is Canadas team, therefore they are viewed widely across the nation. Their home opener this season set a franchise record for viewership. They have one of the largest TV contracts in all of baseball. They also sell crazy merchandise and have good weekend attendance. Why do idiots like you even open your mouth when you have no idea what youre talking about?

Kyle Drabek was the top pitching prospect in the Phillies organization, he's a future ace. Aaron Hill led all MLB second baseman with 36 HR 2 seasons ago. Once again moron opens his mouth when he knows shit all

The Jays are also one of the few teams with no debt and they own their stadium.  I think in terms of viewers, they have the largest tv audience in baseball.  They are in fine financial shape overall.
Rogers Communications is the owner too, they can afford anything.

You're kidding me with this statement, right?

You're clearly not aware of how much money Rogers has.

And number of fans does NOT equal amount of money a corporation has.

Toronto is Maple Leaf city. It always will be. When the Jays start seriously contending, they will start drawing back a lot of their bandwagon jumpers that left after 1994. They will likely, at that point, average 30-40 thousand. They just won't ever get the 50 thousand+ they used to get.
