I love my Colorado teams, but the Tigers/Lions/Wings were my passion growing up.  Many, many, happy memories from Tiger Staduim.

It's okay Tiger Stadium is double click worthy. Since we have more time for stories with the rain delay and I am fortunate to have so many and I know you have cool ones too I will tell another one:

I mentioned before I was at game 5 of the 84 World Series when they won it all. I was 9 years old at the time and we had seats in the left field upper deck boxes. We got there right when the gates opened and were watching the Tigers on the field. Sid Monge and Jack Morris were playing long toss in the outfield and I yelled down to Sid from the upper deck. To my amazement he heard me walked over to fence saw me with my glove, pointed up at me and yelled "for you" and threw up a ball. I was in absolute seven heaven.

Great memory for sure.  Michigan and Trumbull man don't we all wish could watch just one more game from grand old Tiger Stadium. If you google Dave Jordano Photography he has a picture of a family standing on the pitchers mound of Tiger Stadium as it stands today you still see the outline of the infield but that once groomed grass is like a cow pasture so sad to look at.  By the way anyone ever had a cool one down the street at the LINDELL AC i still wonder if that bar is still there or if it was moved to the area of Comerica Park.  Lets get this game going.

The Lindell is gone, but yes I went there a couple of times just because of the stories that came out of that place and all the history. the autographed photos of everyone who came through there was pretty impressive for Detroit. The few years that I was of drinking age at Tiger Stadium we usually ended up at Nemo's.

I've got another one.  Our parents took us down to Lakeland for  Tiger spring training (this might have been in the early 60's?)
Forget who we were playing (Braves, maybe?)
Terry Pendelton (sp?)  had grabbed a foul grounder down third that a little lid was reaching over to get and he snatched it from the kid)My brother started yelling crap to TP  and the guy went nuts and put my bro in a choke hold!!  Huge drama.

A lot of the players use to go to the Lindell after the game one time i was in there with my father-in-law one of his friends and my brother who belly's up to the bar but Billy Martin it was when he was managing the Tigers i wish now i would have went over to talk to him when my father-in-laws friend did.  The Tigers had lost that day and the friend was asking Billy about one of the plays and Billy took the time to explain to him why he did what he did i thought it was pretty neat he actually discussed it with him.  Just great great memories.

Saw only one game at the Olympia its funny because what sticks out in my mind is we were there as a Sr A hockey team bus trip, one of our executive was friends with one the Los Angles Kings players so we all went down in the lower area where the players come out after the game and who was milling around was Ted Lindsay man i couldn't believe how small he was.  Something tells me that the lower level was all old hardwood floors or maybe it was just that area.  Anyways the Olympia had some class too.  And i am right there with you as a 60's teen had the Beatle haircut and all LOL.

Terrible Ted, what a great guy. He was still hanging around the Joe on a regular basis before I left the area in 06. I don't remember Olympia much as I was only four years old when the Wings played their last game there.  I remember a big escalator and sitting way up near the top behind one of the goals and that's about it.
