C'mon man we've been there where we gah to come back 0-2, 0-3, you think we're gonna let you back in, Cain is going tonite and our bull pen , stick a fork in the Tigers , they are done! Hate the Giants some more we know how to celebrate in the other teams parks. Go Giants! And if you happen to get 1, was a little timid at first to face Verlander but  would love to see Pablo get him again but it won't get that far because Bochy and the Giants are going to bury your Tigers. But I like the faith! I looked at reality when Giants were 0-2, 0-3, I gave up on the Giants,and they won which made the victories that sweeter when I didn't think they can do it. But they are gonna do this one , we'll be celebrating in Comerica Park! Just superior pitching and great defense that caught you guys at the right time from your long layoff from the championship series......that's the key 7 day layoff cause your bats ain't doing squat!

[/Quote ]You know what man, I'd do the same thing, its your team you root for, no matter what the odds, but you're right dont want to face Verlander, Fister, and Sanchez,so the Giants are and need to close this out,and you know we can handle those pressure games if Tigers get lucky & get this one, we call them torture games but Cain has a good resume, you know he pitch a perfect game as well, I hope they complete the sweep, I threw a hundred for the hell of it for a Giant sweep before the series started, it would be a nice payday!

Actually good luck with your payday but i really think my boys are going to turn this thing around starting tonight.   You know Verlander wants one more shot as well as Fister so this is a big game tonight.  If all three of our big boys can do it anything could happen in a seventh game.  A long way from there its one inning at a time and one game at a time.  Hopefully Leyland has told the boys go out and win one inning and then the next.  That's the only way you can face this situation.  Its like being down three zip in a hockey series you try to come back one period at a time.  That's it nothing more nothing less you can't think of 3 games.

Why would i change my Avatar if you cut my veins i bleed Tiger blue he is still the best pitcher in MLB and losing this series doesn't change that.   Not making excuses but if the ALCS goes seven and we start the series on normal season rest like the Giants did and all our timing is not thrown off this would have probably been a 6 or 7 game series.  The most a MLB team has off between games is one day during the season and then on to another series.  Baseball is all timing whether it is pitchers or hitting and the 6 days the Tigers had off was just to much and it took until last night to get it back.  And how long were the Giants off between the NLCS and the Series oh yeah that would be one day.  Did i not just mention that most MLB teams have one day off in the year max between series.  Anyways chirp all you want in hear Verlander is still the best pitcher in baseball don't forget he pitches on 4 days rest he was off for 10 or 11 and if you don't think that makes a difference then you know nothing about baseball.  This thread is now over.  SEE ALL MY TIGER BUDDIES AROUND IN THE FORUM.

I did give up lookingtowin, I just didn't have a lot of time this weekend. It was sad to see our boys limp out the way they did. Normally I am happy with a season as long as my team makes the final four of their respective sport, but this team needs work. I agree a lot with Wojo's column the other day: The Giants exposed the Tigers fatal flaw of not being able to hit good pitching and a lack of length through the line up. I know it may not popular amongst fans but I do not think Avila is the answer as starting catcher. Peralta needs to be replaced with a SS with more range and that can move runners and slap the ball around at the plate. Go with Dirks, Jackson and Garcia in the outfield and sign a good solid fourth OF type. Goodbye Boesch, and as exciting as he was when he came up, goodbye Berry, he was totally exposed done the stretch and in the World Series. Resign Sanchez and keep the rotation intact and bargain shop for the bullpen similar to how the Tampa Bay Rays do every year.

I know fat chance. Trading Brantly away to the Marlins in the Sanchez deal underscores that and is going to haunt them in the future. I understand that was the price they had to pay and they may not have gotten to the Series, or even the playoffs without him, but I really think Brantly is going to be a better catcher than Avila.
