Chacin has 23 runs given up in 42IP in the day. Compared to 26 runs in 81IP at night. He gives up twice as many runs in the day as he does at night. 7HRs in the day compared to 9 at night. Another 19-6 in Mid Aug run can have them sitting pretty close to contention. They kick in around the middle of Aug. If they can make a few games up in the next month, they will have a shot. Giants are winning too many close ball games. They need to breaks to keep falling in their favor to keep pace.

 only player missing for the Braves is 2b Dan Uggla who is being replaced by Brooks Conrad. Chipper Jones is out but he has been on the Disabled List for weeks and will be on the disabled list for weeks more after having knee surgery last month so that factored in already and does not count as a missing player IMO
